On a serious note... the Dolphins are rumored to be signing James Conner, for between $3-4M. While he looked slow last year, and is an injury risk, he can also offer much higher upside. And... is a good locker room guy.
That'll never happen. Dude's a woman beater plus he's beyond bummy. He just got a ring, he should just retire
I think the Artist FKA the Texans view David Johnson as the third and long, passing situation back that gets the ball in space and some limited rushing attempts in more of a zone scheme. That’s duplicative with Connor. And while people cap on us keeping Johnson - he would have cost 2.5 million to cut. So in paying him 4.5 - they are really getting him for 2.0 million.
Yes thank God Nick has now used that cap space on another washed up RB. That’s a potential 7-9m on two washed up dudes.
I've seen that concern. But in 2018 Conner had 500 receiving yards and in 2019 his receiving yards went down (which I think was also the year Ben was out) but he did have 3 receiving TDs. So while he isn't a complete pass catching RB like DJ or even someone like Duke Johnson or TJ Yeldon, I don't think you could say he can't be a receiver out of the backfield.
Ingram was a healthy scratch for the last 5 games of the season last year, he is washed up now. Texans specialty is signing over the hill, washed up running backs like David Johnson and now Mark Ingram. As mentioned before, Le'Veon Bell or LeSean McCoy seems like prime targets for us next.
texans specialty is screwing up royally. I happen to see this as lighter on their scale of screw ups. Who wants to come to this team. 0-16 we are gunning for you. that is likely to be the last time I’m seen somewhat deflecting criticism for the worst organization in all of pro sport.
It’s pretty obvious the Texans are going to trade Deshaun and tank in 2021. 2 washed up running backs on 1 year deals, restructuring Cooks deal to where he completely comes off the books after this season. The Texans will be loaded with draft picks and cap space next year. The “plan” is to tear this mf down.... and without Deshaun here, that’s the best plan moving forward. All we can do is hope we hit on the next QB we draft or trade for. If so, we will have the cap flexibility and cap space to build a roster pretty quickly. I’m giving Caserio 2 years. It isn’t his fault Cal hired him. Caserio inherited a horrible roster, a horrible draft pick situation, and a horrible cap situation. It’s horrible that our franchise QB wants out and isn’t willing to give Caserio or Culley a chance.... but with or without Deshaun, we were bound to enter a rebuilding of the roster. A Deshaun trade for the RIGHT package and selection of the RIGHT draft picks could help expedite the process. but I’m giving Caserio 2 years
I wish Tebow was the VP of football/ character coach/ weight equipment dude/ preacher/ children's book writer.
Caserio will be here as long as Easterby thinks he’s useful. As soon as the pressure on Easterby mounts, he will turn him into the scapegoat and cut ties with Caserio.
