The follow up to my multi platinum Twitter poll. Who will be a better player 5 years from now.
Get your takes in now before we see KPJ in Rockets red, or who knows even Herro in Rockets red.

It’s a tough question for me to answer purely because of the kid’s mental health.

All I know is with COVID, anyone asked where they see themselves at in 5 years in 2015-16 was wrong!

It's not a fair question at this point. I mean even by pure basketball standards Herro had a way better rookie season than KPJ

Why the comparison to Herro specifically?

Because people act like he's untouchable in an Oladipo trade and Miami is the likely trade partner so we are likely to see Herro or Precious Achiuwa as a Rocket if Oladipo is in fact traded. Getting this question out before A) a trade has happened or B) before KPJ actually plays this season will lead to an interesting look back in a few months.

Defense and playmaking will separate KPJ

This is like asking if Chandler Parsons would be better than Harden in five years when Harden arrived in Houston, makes no sense....

Porter has the greater potential, but he literally hasn't played a game in Houston yet, and the off-the-court issues are still there. Based on that, I went with Herro here, even if his ceiling is lower than Porter's. I'm hoping KPJ proves himself in the last half of the season, though, and makes me want to change my answer.

Herro being in this poll makes 0 sense when he's not a Rocket and won't be

Considering KPJ is not associated with Jack Harlow, I'm gonna go with KPJ.

I voted the wrong way. Brain fog is real. KPJ will be better than Herro but that's not how I voted.

This takes me back to the jopat thread of Capela vs Thon Maker. Except in that case, jopat clearly made it so he could rub it in peoples faces once Maker became the superduper star that jopat knew he would become.

I went with the more sure thing at the time - Capela. I'll do the same here - Herro.

Neither will likely become a star but KPJ probably has a higher ceiling (and unfortunately a lower floor).

    KPJ > Jordan > Herro !!!!!!

In all seriousness though I think it will come down to KPJ's mental health. He's got tons of talent. Excited for his debut tonight, really rooting for him.
