PJ to the 76ers for Mike Scott, Paul Reed and a 2nd Oladipo, McLemore and Portland 2021 1st to the Heat for Leonard, Bradley and Herro.
The first trade is fine with me, but I don't think PJ has that much pull. The second trade is horrible, especially considering Leonard's Anti-Semetic comments.
I love your 180! Herro is literally the only way Oladipo should be traded to Miami and we need to stop acting like he's some future superstar. Let Miami fans drink his koolaid. In 14 days, the Heat are going to be begging for a swap. Oladipo is going to go on a giant run for the next 9 games.
On the PJ deal, I’m fine with either Paul Reed or the 2nd if that is the best return we can get. Scott is just filler. For Oladipo, Leonard is just salary filler, and is waived afterward. The 1st we are sending is the least valuable first we own
Their "franchise" guy is being outplayed by their 20 year old rookie who may be roy with more playing time... Haliburton at 20 years old has a higher scoring per attempt, higher rebounding rate, half the turnover rate... the only thing Fox beats him in is assist rate being about 30% higher... Haliburton has the best +/- on team of anyone who has played 20 minutes total in the season. Fox isn't a bad player but it's reasonable to argue he's their second best point guard. Flipping him for wiseman or a lottery pick is a solid move since his contract is about to get much harder to move.... It's like saying you would rather have Matt Ryan in 2015 than Russell Wilson on his rookie deal... cap space has value...
I have never been sold on Herro as a star. I'll settle for him, if his contract is a low one. Oladipo's quad injury has really reduced his explosiveness. I admit he is using his smarts to compensate for it. That's the most, I can expect from him. I don't see any reason for Miami to go after him, since he isn't the missing piece to a NBA championship run.
It's fine to have your opinion. Dinwiddie is a free agent. They can sign him without dealing Gordon if they clear space. Dinwiddie isn't that young... he's as good as he's going to get... They could get knox for less than a 1 if they liked him that much. Just because he's young and plays a position of need doesn't make him a good player.
I agree about Knox but vehemently disagree about Dinwiddie. Have you watched Dinwiddie recently? He was putting up All Star type numbers last season and earlier this season too. His bird rights are valuable, especially for a team like Orlando that cannot entice any great players to sign with them.
you know Google exists right? https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/dinwisp01/gamelog/2021/ 6-4-3 on bad splits this year.
He was a +14 in those THREE games he played this season. Last season Dinwiddie averaged over 20 pts, almost 7 asst and 3.5 trb. Google is nice, but you gotta watch games too.
You said all star type numbers! Don't you move the goalposts on me. I will not watch a Nets game unless they are playing the Rockets or are in the Finals, not that i'd be able to enjoy an easy 6-4-4 all star stat line from the sidelined Spencer Dinwiddie.
One thing people aren't proposing enough is picks for 2022 and 2023. I don't want someone on their 2nd or 3rd season, I want to align all of our assets to the Rockets can go all-in at once. All-in used to mean win a championship, now it means trying to win. It's really unlikely the Rockets can be like the Celtics that traded a lotto pick for Ray Allen and landed Garnett to make a bad team good over night. This would be possible without Gordon and Wall. For all the people that want Herro and Precious, I don't think it should be the goal. It is an improvement over what we'd be giving up based on our goals and timeline, but still misses the mark in my opinion. Hinkei has proven the model. That model is keep pushing your assets to the future. Traded MCW after ROY, drafted injured players every year to ensure more losing. Embid, Noel, Simmons. If they would have drafted Tatum over Fultz, they might have a ring right now. I'm ready for the fire sale, I just hope we get later picks. I would also like to see Portland's pick packaged for something in 2022 as well.
No one has seen him recently. He's out for the year... he put up numbers on a bad team... At his age I'm just not high on him... if wood was coming off a major injury would he get 18 million? 15?
Dinwiddie shot 54% ts% last year. Ross is 53% and Fournier is 59%. Dinwiddie is a solid player given playing time on a team with no stars to command the ball from him... he's just a guy.
Thing is they are capable of playing together because hali can play the 2 very easily Your analogy doesn’t work because they can play together in basketball Sacramento will not trade fox, they want both
NYK I think Knox would look good as a Ryan Anderson / Matt Bullard type player for us. The NYK have him pegged as a 3 when he is a miss match 4 role player. He should score 20 points 2 or 3 nights and not play the next game because of the other teams line up. His value is situational. He needs to be placed into the game with good coaching to take advantage of his skill set. IMO Knox upside is a shooter that keeps spacing that has some hustle to him. —> he is not there just yet because he is chasing smaller players around on the arc where his size is a disadvantage. If we can get him on the cheap then we should he had value if used right. (He is bust because he was picked so high by a team that doesn’t know how to use him, BUT, not his fault his skill set and size got picked that high).
Rockets must consider Herro just a guy too. Just because it doesnt fit your world view does not make it any less true.
