They cancelled the esteemed legacy of Senator John McCain and literally tried to cancel his widow. Let's keep this going. This is the best thread ever.
they tried to cancel Nascar after they decided to prohibit displaying the Confederate flag at their events
The Rooney character in an otherwise classic movie was so ridiculous that I didn’t even know he was supposed to be Asian. I thought it didn’t fit with the rest of the movie either... I thought he was some odd man with fake teeth that was irrationally angry. Indeed I remember watching the movie in my early 20’s with my girlfriend at the time, she was Japanese and had to tell me that it was an Asian stereotype.
Yeah, the big modern one here is a women's right over her reproductive system. Gay people's right to marry Our rights to vote
There's that Ohio Congressman whose family disowned him for voting impeachment against Trump. U wit us r agin us ? klack klack
Yeah sure. It's pretty easy to find. https://www.vox.com/culture/22254435/harry-potter-tv-series-hbo-jk-rowling-transphobic https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-names-change-churchill-rowling-b1801304.html https://www.instyle.com/celebrity/jk-rowling/harry-potter-fansites-no-longer-support-jk-rowling I mean there are tons on JK Rowling and people generally considered as liberal canceling her. Not wanting anything to do with books, movies, or video games that have to do with Harry Potter. It's really not all that hard to find though, I'm sure just look at her tweets and you'll find people that are constantly going at her.
Right off the hot press of trying to cancel Biden’s victory: ease of voting eliminate drop boxes eliminate no excuse mail in ballot eliminate all early voting on Sunday eliminate full early voting hours on Saturday purge voter rolls
Oh yeah it's a very blatant racist stereotype and one that's been brought up by many for decades. It was even referenced in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story My point is that if Paramount came out and said they weren't going to remake Breakfast at Tiffany's because of complaints over that character and stopped distributing the movie it wouldn't be censorship. Paramount as both the rights holder but also as a studio has right to decide how it uses it's property and resources but more than that given that the movie and clips of the offending character are already widely in release and available it's not being censored. The argument that a few books of Dr. Suess aren't being published, Pepe Le Pew isn't in the next Space Jam, or even that Andrew Cuomo's books aren't being published is some sort of assault on freedom is ludicrous. I agree getting offended by Pepe Le Pew is dumb but for people who claim to be conservative or rightward leaning to argue that it's an assault on freedom and to question property rights is truly ludicrous and another sign of how they are unmoored from first principles.
It's also an attack in the left that the they know the left has no control over. These are businesses making business decisions and magically the left is to blame. It's a tactic that works well with the GOP base because it's something "the left" can never resolve because it is literally outside their control.
Those are liberals? The 1st is one guy on Vox How are kids in the 2nd link who wrote that letter considered Liberals. So everybody on those fan sites are Liberals as well, only Liberals read Harry Potter? What criteria are you using to label all of these people Liberals? What do you consider plenty? Have the left leaning media amplified these things like the right leaning media does? You are citing random things that MIGHT have liberals involved, most of the things I have posted had the backing of the party not just random think pieces and twitter trolls.
The thing about "cancel culture" is anyone can "find it" due to the modern age of social media. I'm sure I can find using ranch for dipping sauce on french fries cancelled on twitter. Every swing opinion known to man is on social media. That's why I don't care for it. Tweets from randos isn't news. It's irrelevant.
