I see it as flailing and i don't see that it is continuing to work. How is losing the Senate with Georgia an example of it working? The reason why I think it will lose its effectiveness iss because everybody is trying to capitalize on it with the republicans and at some point it just becomes background noise. Trump had things he could focus on like the wall and immigration unlike now where its something new every week, goya beans, Dr Seuss, Mr Potato head etc. I just think its hard to maintain that level of outrage until 2022.
Having thought about it some more, I’m going to disagree strongly - some of you really need to understand the difference between having your position challenged and being personally attacked. Bluntly speaking, the self -described moderates resort to personal attack far more than any of the self-described progressives.
That's not what a lot of progressives where asking It was straight up a question of should they exist, now you are being dishonest on what the debate was. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/should-billionaires-exist.303952/ And this is what you said. fchowd0311 said: ↑ Billionaires shouldn't exist in a fair capitalist market where corporations aren't allowed to exploit labor and have undue influence in our legislation process. There is no reality where Michael Bloomberg does THIRTY THOUSAND TIMES the labor of a proffesional mechanical engineer making 200 grand a year salary. Communism is a economic philosophy that doesn't believe in private property. Bernie Sanders believes in private property. It's a disingenuous hit job. Michael Bloomberg being called a oligarch is a more academically accurate term than Bernie Sanders being called a communist. There was a entire thread on the topic with people voting they should not exist at all and it was the biggest reason Bloomberg was villified. You want to show me were you framed it the way you say it was framed?
You did not challenge his position who labeled him as being something other than what he claimed. WTF are you now claiming somebody personally attacked you? Really? And once again you go negative with the "self-described moderates" blast, you asked a question and I answered and now I am attacking you? So progressives did not personally attack Biden, Pete and Bloomberg during the primary?
I read that the entire bill will cost every tax-paying household $15,000. I'll send you a check when I get $15,000 to spare.
And that is, by definition, class warfare. I don't know what you don't grasp about that. Ask Bezos or Musk or Jobs or Gates whether it was easy to get where they got and if it involved any "sincere labor".
actually I didn’t feel like you were attacking me in this specific case (or ever really). It’s just a general observation of this message board, even if I haven’t been a target (I probably don’t post enough). “Self-described moderates” is no more loaded than “self-described progressives” - it’s a way to discern who I’m talking about. When someone called themselves a moderate and then proceeds to share a very conservative position (which is EXACTLY what rockbox did), it’s neither rude nor unfair to point out the inconsistency between his self-label and his actual views. I even encouraged him to further explain this discrepancy by admitting his views were probably more nuanced, but that’s when he went nuclear. Ideally this is a discussion forum but there are some people here who very clearly want to make statements and have them left unchallenged. Finally, I’ll add that he indicated that he takes most pleasure in “pissing off” liberals and conservatives. Taken at its most literal, that’s basically the definition of a troll.
So buying your way to being top 5 to 10 presidential candidate for one of the two major parties isn't even remotely in the realm of oligarchy?
I'm really at a loss for what type of language is appropriate to not be considered a class warfare soldier. I've been to war. This "class warfare" doesn't resemble war to me but I guess I could be wrong.
Difference of degree - passing legislation that actively enriches the billionaire class while lessening economic opportunities and protections for everyone else is class warfare in action. Saying that there is a problem with this is not class warfare - it’s rhetoric at best and mostly just an observation.
It purely is rhetoric. "warfare" by the literal definition involves armed conflict. So when someone uses the term "warfare" outside that context it probably means they have an agenda to paint the rhetoric worse and more toxic than it actually is. Now watch how offended some posters would be if I label someone like Joe Manchin doing warfare on the minimum wage worker. I actually don't think he is doing "warfare". He's just self interested in the hospitality businesses he owns that hires mostly workers that make below 12 dollars an hour.
Hmm didn't know those were the only people that exist that are wealthy. And btw, their first millions were made from sincere dedication and ingenuity. At a certain point there wealth grew due to the easy nature of growing wealth after having some wealth.
See this your opinion of the position he took, why did you have to label him a conservative and not just debate the argument? Why are you the expert on what views should be classified as and what difference does that make with what he said, why do we have to label each other? Why do you feel the need to challenge what he identifies as in the 1st place? I missed the part were he said he likes pissing people off but that had nothing to do with what he said in that post how could that be taken as a troll post?
It's very telling you ignored your saying that Billionaires should not exist and then went to the low hanging fruit of Bloomberg. And you are they guy always complaining about people not debating in good faith, this is the definition of goal post moving and a strawman, nobody was arguing about buying anything. Do better my guy.
you need to stop lying. if everything goes accordingly, the bill will be signed off by the house on Tue, then it's official. while u are entitled to you opinion, ur not entitled to make up your own lies
