I disagree. They guy has one more cheap season after this and then will get paid! We are trying to get as many contracts as possible on rookie scale as possible. Why would the Rockets want to be in a position of having to pay someone big money in a year or losing him. I think it's better to take our chances in the draft, MPJ almost slipped out of the lottery. Look for next year's MPJ.
No need to disagree. The Rockets would most likely give anything outside of their own picks, Brooklyn picks and maybe Wood to get MPJ. I’ve heard how much they covet him and the best insider on here has confirmed what I’ve been told. I don’t think they have enough to get it done. They view MPJ as a franchise guy
Just so everyone is aware, dumping EGo and Wall for expirings would give us a ridiculous $80 million in cap space. Take the assets we have now, plus whatever we can get for Tucker and Oladipo, and I’d love to see what Stone can do with that degree of flexibility.
I’ll never understand this logic. We shouldn’t pursue a player because we might — but probably won’t — land a similar caliber player via the draft? Yeah, no. I’ll take and pay the sure thing.
Did Cyberx say something about MPJ? Also, if we're not giving up any picks or Wood, then we are basically getting him cheap.
The Rockets have 4 FRP in the next three years that aren’t their own or BKN. There is a very reliable insider who did but he prefers we don’t tag him so you’ll just have to trust me it was posted. He said he was the target for the Harden trade. I was told by someone who would know that he’s still the target.
Can we agree that MPJ is not a "sure thing" yet? He has great upside, but he also has massive question marks like his back and IQ. If this was MPJ's rookie season then I would have a different view. Even Morey, who rarely drafted in the top 20, said you want to be the one that finds the players, not pays them. Also, if we didn't have Wall, I would say see more value in having him next year on a cheap contract. Unless the goal is to win the title next season, I just don't think it matches a tanking teams timeline. I'm not the GM and I'm wrong a bunch, so who knows. You might be right!
That’s when you know I’m onto something because I’m typically called a homer in trades. Maybe Miami would cough up Herro in said deal but I doubt it. Wall is a really bad contract, like all time bad
Now that Blake is joining up with James, KD and the crew who thinks Philly, Miami, Boston and New York are now feeling the heat to upgrade their rosters? Its good to be a seller in an arms race. To Sixers: Oladipo Tucker Exum To Rockets: Tobias Harris Thybulle Milton 3 #1 picks 3 pick swaps If we don't think cap space will help our rebuild anyways might as well get more picks and a couple of younger pieces... Sixers would free up a max slot to pair with simmons/embiid or keep oladipo... they should be willing to pay lot to do so...
I wouldn’t say it’s that bad. Next year at the deadline walls contract is very valuable. So I’m keeping it till then idc.
