Miami could save some money by trading for Eric instead of signing Dipo to a much bigger contract over the summer.

Posted this in another thread since it was Woj just randomly talking many might not know but...

He said Oladipo, Tucker, and Ego all had interest around the league and it basically comes down to whether the Rockets were embracing the lottery or not. So those three, at the very least, should be dealt before the deadline.

Ego is solid player that's going to add scoring and decent defense to many teams so I can see him being wanted. I think out of the three he adds the most to a team.

Lord, please get EG and Dipo outta here...currently my most 2 hated Rockets, with Dipo being a distant second to EG

These are the most logical roster moves to make.

So I expect the FO to do the exact opposite.

Well Harden rarely had proper help, so that's not exactly saying much. I will simply not miss his unhindered, 30 foot bombs to nowhere and overall fumbling of the ball in crucial moments.

I'd be happy with both of those outcomes. Youth and potential or picks should be Stone's focus. Riley is tough, but he has to be questioning not getting the Harden deal done. He's not getting any younger and they need a 3rd proven go to, although Oladipo is not a super star, he's a nice blend of offense and defense that should appeal to the Miami culture. Achiuwa, Hampton and Bol add youth, length and potential--all things we need.

Goring / Stone: "We have England buckling. A couple more weeks and Churchill's capitulation will make Neville Chamberlain look like Genghis Khan! / The teams are lining up. We can dump Eric Gordon like last night's Chipotle burrito. Even Ainge will be kissing my taint."
Hitler / Fertitta: "You know what. Let's go ahead and invade the Soviet Union. / That's not too bad. Know what? I know how I can f*** it up."
Goring / Stone: "Mein Furher, uh, maybe now isn't the best time. Please, please don't interfere, I know what I'm doing, I've worked so hard on this."
    Hitler / Fertitta: "What....did....I just....say? / What did I just say?"
Goring / Stone: "Your wish is my command. (Sigh) When Covid is over, I guess I could pimp."

What will be the return for Gordon?
    1. 1FRP + young talent
    2. 1FRP + garbage
    3. 2SRPs + filler?

If we do get back a FRP, it most likely comes from a playoff team so gonna be late teens at best I assume

    Who wouldn't?

Even if the team were awful: "You've been traded to Miami." "Yesssssssssssssssssss!"

The level of disrespect shown to one of our core guys on one of the best teams in NBA history is sad to see. EGo was a reliable sidekick to Harden for so many years. The guy was one of the top snipers in the league. Not many players took the volume he did for so many years at the makes he averaged. Couple that with outstanding defensive performances and switch ability during his run with us. He showed his worth on multiple stages in multiple playoff games.

And now we’re giddy to kick him out after an injury riddled season? Fans are so fickle when harden wants out of his contract he’s ostracized by us when ego is rumored to be traded out while still on contract it’s applauded. What happened to loyalty?

not to say it’s not the right move for our franchise but all this loyalty rhetoric is bs and people get caught in their feelings too much. I just hope when/if ego is traded he’s remembered as fondly as guys like Horry/Ellie/casell/hayes/scola/Landry/smith/madmax because he showed out for one of our best teams against one of the best teams, IMO the best team, in NBA history.

So you're saying we can't even get 1FRP or 2SRPs for Gordon? Like we have to attach asset to get rid of him? I really doubt it

I’d say Filler + one young player on a rookie deal

No way we’re getting a FRP back unless we’re taking back a worse player who has a similar contract (for example: Gary Harris)

Who was the most reliable post season player in the 15 years before Harden got here?
