You sound like a victim. I come from an immigrant family. My dad came to Houston with barely a dollar to his name. He didn't know english very well at all, worked his a$$ off, We lived in a tiny house through most of my childhood. He eventually was able to get a loan from a bank, open a small business, and bust his hump to provide for his wife and three kids for the next 30 years. My mom is also an immigrant with no college education. Through hard work, she went from mail clerk, to secretary, to admin, and is now a successful commercial broker. She did it while raising three kids. Spare me of your privilege bs. Get out there and be somebody.
I come from an immigrant family. Except they were educated and I was raised in Sugar Land my entire childhood and have self awareness in the advantages I had such as having a full time stay at home mother. It's what I credit for my military and academic success. If you think Texas having lower life expectancy rates, higher obesity rates, higher infant morality rates, higher percentage of residents without any healthcare coverage, higher poverty rates, worse ranked k-12 education rates is a good thing, you are lost in the sauce of your own ego and narcicism. Obviously your poor upbringing has failed you to fully develop a rational triple digit iq mind with basic critical thinking skills. And that's why we need to strengthen programs to protect children from the outcomes of poverty to reduce outcomes like yourself.
I'm just not an excuses guy...people need to do a better job and be more responsible in how they raise kids and take care of their families. It's not for the gov't to fix.
This is what we call wishful thinking which is the opposite of pragmatism. We've been over this. The most important stage of brain development that most determines whether an adult is going to be a mentally healthy productive member of society is ages 0-10 and more specifically 0-3. So when kids those ages lack access to basic needs that benefit the brain at that age such as healthcare, early childhood education, a full time stay at home parent tending all their needs, proper nutrition etc, all that happens is an increased probabalistic odds that those kids will have mental health issues as adults. These platitudes about bootstraps accomplishes nothing because increasing the outcomes of mentally ill adults that have problems maintaining jobs and staying out of prison. You invest more now, you pay less later. This has nothing to do with you as an individual. Get your own narcissism out of it. Besides humans are really bad at self-awareness of their own successes and failures. For all I know you might percieve yourself to be a success but in reality aren't.
Sounds like parents need to do better, dont take on the responsibility of kids unless you can provide for their basic needs.
Good parents are made at ages 0-10 with a good upbringing. Kids with troubled upbringings have higher probabilities of having kids before they are prepared.
Yes someone like me admitting to the advantages I had as a child am egotistical and the person I'm debating who claims his peecieved success is all due to him is not. Got it.
Probably all well run companies that already have established covid safety will continue to do so. One problem will be government buildings (DPS, Courts, and such). And I don't know if the local gov or Mr. AbBot gets to decide masking requirement for those places. The private sector: Governor Abbot has issued an EO .... blah blah blah We will continue to follow our current Covid safety guidelines and policies which we believe help protect our people and are critical for our business. We have been following the advice from CDC and health care professionals and will continue to do so moving forward.
That's unfortunate, bad parenting and irresponsibility can trickle down for generations...parents need to do better.
Unfortunately, it won't be that easy. People will go into businesses without masks, some may have forgotten to bring one, some because they honestly didn't think it necessary to wear a mask, and others will to make a scene about not wearing a mask. The people working at the businesses will be stuck with dealing with the person. Law enforcement has been directed to not enforce mask wearing, so employees at businesses will be on their own.
So you are pro abortion? Cant feed em dont breed em. Because, someone's life situation is always stable and never has ups and downs. All you need is bootstraps and grit and you will make it in this world. . . . . Everyone's experience is exactly the same. We all have the same support systems and opportunities. In other news, I ate breakfast so world hunger is obviously not a problem.
Well the cops would still have to enforce trespassing which those customers would be doing if the employee tells them to get out.
Who isn't? Desiring personal responsibility is irrelevant to the fact that reducing probabalistic outcomes of poverty experienced by children benefits society in the long wrong. I think this is where your double digit iq from your unfortunate upbringing cannot comprehend.
He we ****ing go again with this dog whistle. If this country were founded on personal responsibility then we would be a third world nation with no infrastructure, worker protection, police, fire fighters, public schools. We wouldn't be subsidizing industry like farming, aerospace, pharma or have a military budget bigger than any other nation on earth. I hate these dumb ass buzzwords that don't take into account that this nation changed after the great depression for a reason.
