Yes, agreed. They really do come out in the vocal minority of this thread. A shame.

That same percentage of the population wouldn't make the right choice anyway. The rest that know how to employ common sense and judgment do not need to be regulated for the sake of that percentage you are referring to.

So if you are high risk what do you do lockdown at home?

You already said mask don't work so what are they supposed to do?

What if they have a job in a bar or any other public service job?

    Sure about that?

I'd love for you to pull up the statistics of fatal car crashes pre and after seat belts. Night and day man. People are just not smart enough to make good decisions sometimes.

It has never been easier to get essentials delivered or given curbside. Even if a high risk person needed to leave the home, there are precautions they can take. If you share a household with a high risk person, there are precautions you can take.

All of it can be done in the name of personal responsibility.

You know you’re an ******* when you can’t wear a mask for 30 minutes at HEB.

See, this is viewing life from a position of privilege. Some individuals truly don't understand this can be done for them or they have no idea how to use the technology or they have no one to help them.

It's ****ing reality. Are groceries delivered everywhere? What about people living much further away? What about individuals that don't have credit cards or debit cards and are cash people? What about those with no internet? I can keep going man.

You really can't believe after all these months that it won't increase Covid cases, deaths, or hospitalizations do you? Even if most of those people were the ones who frequented bars or pranced around free of masks, those still wearing masks would be more at risk one way or another. They would be more at risk of being infected, even with a mask, and not all people have the option of staying home in lockdown until vaccinated, avoiding doctors offices, or other places necessary to get what they need that can't be done online or by phone.

Majority of those places. and many many others, will likely still require masks for entry.

Not much is changing around here folks, I dont know why all the hysteria.

Especially considering he never bothered to read the complete article from Newsweek prior to posting it.

You are missing my point. Masks aren't 100%, especially the ones most can afford. What you call hysteria doctors call common sense. Opening up at 100% and removing masks when your state has 100's dying a day is pure stupidity. Are you a Trump supporter? Only someone like who would believe his propaganda and lies but call what scientists, doctors, and experts recommend hysteria.

I read it. The point was to show there are indeed studies out there that show the effects of lockdowns are not shown to have slowed the spread, which adds on to my larger point that a lot of this is guesswork, and it has gone on long enough.

I have a lot more than that, I have a view that is reasonable and backed by logic and information, and I don't mind going 1 vs 40 about it. The D&D has become a safe space for Dems to nut hug, and its not a true D&D without some perspective from the other side.

You keep contradicting yourself. You say "it's guesswork" and you also say "NPIs definitely don't work". Please rationalized these contradictory positions.

NPIs have not been proven to work. Simple as that.

There has been zero consistency with what the so called scientists, doctors, and experts have recommended. CDC is a joke, Fauci is a walking contradiction. Nothing presented anywhere has been proven to work.
