In before they announce Alex Bregman was eaten by a crocodile and Yordan had his left hand bitten off while trying to save him. #HoustonSports

Crap. Really hope it’s somehow only a few weeks, but that doesn’t sound good.

2 months maybe? Count me as an irrational optimist but mild to moderate pitching injuries at this point might be a blessing in disguise given all pitchers will be up against an innings limit this year due to the short 2020 season. Not starting Framber’s season until May will make it more likely he lasts thru Oct with the side benefit of getting a young arm a chance.

Took a liner off his left ring finger in yesterday’s game.

Brett Anderson broke his index finger on April 12, 2014 and the reports said 4-6 weeks. He didn't return until July 13th. It's not the same finger as Framber, but I expect Framber to miss significant time and you can't count on him being the same guy he was last year when he comes back. How does the finger effect his grip and/or his control? He's gone from being the likely ace of the staff to a giant question mark.

This is why I said in the offseason thread I could see us winning 95 games or being sellers at the deadline. We are relying on a lot of young pitching without a history of throwing very many innings and have limited depth. Wish we would have brought in Urias or Rodon.....

I am not knowledgeable about this subject, but seems to me like ring finger would be less important than the index finger. Hopefully he would be on the 4-6 weeks timetable and have plenty of time to take it slow and be 100% for the second half.

At the very least I expect him to miss a month of the regular season. If it takes 4-6 weeks to heal he then he has to start over building up his pitch count.

I’d rather give Whitley a few starts. Now is the time too see what he’s capable of.

Sad to see Framber go down, but he still has a bright season/future ahead of him though. I don’t doubt Machete’s take that he’s a beast & will come back full strength. Hopefully our staff can hold the fort in the meantime. Our schedule looks pretty modest early on, really not too tough until late May. Nicks like this are annoying but I’d much rather have it be a a finger than arm or leg issue to be honest. Our rotation and pen will have to pick up the slack but it looks doable. Maybe not as much if we were in another division.

Didn't Jeff Kent fall off his motorcycle or something and miss some significant time?

Besides Framber’s quality as a pitcher, he was also one of the few guys who looked like he could potentially work deep regularly into games and eat innings. Now he’s going to be replaced by someone who will likely only be good for 2-4 innings at a time.

Ugh. Framber getting hurt is a real nut punch. Him getting hurt on his pitching hand is a nut punch plus a wedgie.

See @DreamShook Houston sports luck lol.

Just when I was looking forward to the only competent Houston sports franchise suit up I read that **** across the bottom of ESPN. That's a huge blow to the rotation but hopefully he can return and do so strongly.

Can we even sign anyone without having to release someone from the 40 man?

Roster is at 40 but that doesn’t include Souza or Cishek, who are pretty likely too make the team.

Robel Garcia and Taylor Jones will probably be cut for them.

I don’t expect them too sign anyone else. They are close to the luxury tax that they don’t want to exceed and they want that wiggle room (13-14 million) to address an unexpected need that might come up if there’s an injury before the deadline.
