I think people would be much more calm if we didn't just waste the past year and saw over half million Americans die while so-called leaders argued whether the virus was no worse than the flu and whether masks and social distancing was truly needed. And here we are again, seeing so-called leaders ignoring the advice of medical and scientific experts... all for political purposes.
Agree. The fact that this turned into a political back and forth was a huge negative and further drove the levels of divide
Who cares if people don't want to wear masks or if they do. If people want to go bars with masks off it doesn't bother me any. Over the last year I've not gone out and have limited my exposure to only close family members. Take care of yourself and stop being a victim.
I also posted data that tracks CLI over the last few months in states with strict restrictions (VA, DC, MD) with states like Florida that lifted their mandates months ago, and the tracking was nearly identical.
Nice try, but the problem, the BIG problem, isn't solely that people became divided on this, but rather, that there was even a group of people (and shock... the same group of people who wear maga hats) that would even stake a position against medical and scientific experts and create a divide. Because after all... you would think all Americans would want their fellow Americans to not get sick, and not to die. And if that is true, they would be willing to make sacrifices, and help each other through the crisis. Instead... we have have governor wheels, using the announcement to distract from his failures responding to the Texas storms. And applauded by the same people wearing the red hats...
u do know that US has the highest # of COVID cases and deaths rocketjudoka posted about how densely populated Asian countries have been able to contain the spread of virus, much more successful than the US. they aggressively test for COVID, use masks and shut down as warranted.
Did it work here? Also, I have zero trust in the integrity of how Asian countries report their numbers.
