Anyone can see they aren’t tanking on purpose it’s just they are awful.

Losing streaks become losing culture if not careful.

There is such a thing as losing competitively.

Morey used to work closely with MDA discussing rosters and systems.

Not seeing that synergy between Stone and Silas.

It was before Wood went down. I think honestly they tried to make playoffs with Wood but when his injury appeared to be serious and Rockets looked like **** first couple of games they decided they are tanking. All of a sudden they started resting players like EG, Oladipo, Wall, they released Boogie, they are not calling up KPJ. Its Silas playground right now, they need to loose as much now because when Wood come back they will start winning some games again so you gotta stack up losses to secure top4 draft in the end lol

Then keeping Boogie would have supported, even accelerated, the tank.

    This explanation not making sense.

Keeping Boogie means some young dude doesn't play. Maybe someone taking his minutes will develop into solid player/asset

There is more than 1 way to beat a zone Silas, just do your job.

Which young dude are you referring to?

Patton was signed as a backup, not a replacement for Boogie and was played sparingly anyway.

These were the starters after Boogie waived: Wall, Dipo, House, Tate, Tucker

Rockets start only vets before starting Patton vs. Grizz. Tate was moved to bench again.

The thing is we can only base our opinions of stuff we see right now but management makes decision with seeing all the cards. I don't think Stone is an idiot. I think they now tank purposely but at first they wanted to be that dark horse type of team

Right, but Morey and MDA worked together for 4 years to gain their cohesiveness. This year has been crazy with Harden forcing out and using basically a different starting lineup every game. I'm willing to give them both a wash for the year and see how they manage this off-season.

Yes, literally whatever happens on the court happens. Tanking happens in the offices. They can win if the tanking sucks.

But you also have to update your definition of tanking. Tanking is not only about our draft pick, it's also about asset acquisition/churning. That means you still get any type of player from good to great (case in point Oladipo), but again you don't care about winning you just care about showcasing them for a better asset. Both present and future value count towards tanking.

our offense is just putrid to watch. the cavs's announcers were hilariously accurate with their take:

"the rocket's offense is just one guy dribbles and he will pass it to someone else when he cant do anything with it"

I guess Morey was more important than Stone gave him credit for.

To be fair to Silas he is working cow manure right now. He has no genuine talent outside of Wood to work with but overall his offensive schemes have been just iso ball wall or Dipo

I can't wait till he gets to the John Wall game against the Grizzlies. A masterful tank performance.

That's not healthy. Extreme stress can manifest itself in physical symptoms---hair loss, rash, ulcers.
