Mediocrity is what we are now... AT BEST... the way out of mediocrity is by obtaining a star either through the draft or via trade... The Harden era was anything but mediocre here. Cmon man - you don’t believe Harden or the Harden era was mediocrity. No way you believe that.

This tells me that coaching is at least a partial reason for the Rockets losses.

Having awareness of your teams strengths and having the wherewithal on how to use those players to optimal ability matters.

Lets be honest , a big part of this is the lack of talent.

Their best player is out and he's the key to their offensive versatility .... when he was on the floor , they were the leagues best defense and a top10 offensive team for a stretch and were winning games.

Lets see how they play when Wood comes back ....

    Ozone disappearing in the sky
Bud man asking us why ask why
If I could find my magazine this bug would die
    I complain
China boy standing up to a tank
Southern boy living in the house of yanks
If I can't seem to get my motorbike to crank
    I complain

When Wood comes back will Silas finally maximize his usage?

Silas will need to convince Wall to play through Wood, he may be too self absorbed to change his play.

Wall is in love with iso right now.

So much so that he will slow down the pace just so he can iso in half court.

    Coaching matters too.

How many 3rd quarters can this team just stink it up?

    Half time adjustments amirite?

Yes, losing Harden then Wood was HUGE.

But you also have to admit that Silas was not using either to the best of their ability either.

And Wall and Oladipo led team should not be this bad, both are former multi-season All Stars and All Defense players.

And EGo leading HOUnds 2nd unit with Tate-Sterling-Nwaba used to be lockdown, why was this unit dismantled or only used to bring team back from double digit deficits?

    Coaching matters.

He’s doing an outstanding job. Players are playing hard and we are in the bottom three. Can’t ask for much more than that.

You realize that after the Roman Empire fell, it was NEVER rebuilt?

Empires need to be extended and expanded, not mismanaged and left to die with hope to resuscitate.

They are trying to tank. This should be obvious to you by now. You can clearly see with questionable rotations where Silas is simply not trying to win. He keeps the most effective player for the night benched for the period when they have to make a run. Also, with all the picks available and Rockets ridden with injuries, it makes sense to tank and use the picks as leverage and maybe try to land a proven star to play alongside Wood or simply rebuild. It sucks to watch in the short-term but if cards are played right and resources used wisely by the GM and Owner then there is only upside for the future.

Yet another weak fan heeping blame on everything but the obvious....the coach. Reason we suck in the third quarter of every game is coaching. The reason we have no height in the game and why we gave away our only tall guy is coaching. The reason nobody passes is coaching. Not knowing and playing the right personnel is coaching. Low morale is coaching. Losing the most games in a row in over 20 years is coaching. Please quit making excuses and get a freaking clue.

My first sentence is injuries make the situation difficult - but the mistakes are coaching 101 items. There are some fundamental do's and don't's and watching this season with Silas he is making serious coaching mistakes that our opposing coaches are not making. It might take some time for Silas to get used to the captains chair rather than the suggestion oriented roles he has played for the last 20+ years.

This sort of mistake would cause the Lakers and Net's to lose too.

Some of the issue is 5 man unit inconsistency due to injury and play time restrictions.

However, Bad play calling = bad shot selection = inefficient shooting. The players on the court are *all shooting way below career averages over the last 10 games. The coach is capable to placing the players in much better scenarios for success than this.

Silas seem to be a smart fellow to me so my hope is he can recognize makes and correct for them.
