Oh ****, I still haven't seen Heathers yet? Still holds up? I love me some Ryder and that Christian Slater heartthrob of a man.

Yeah... Is have to go with “rolling with the homies” out of those two. But will go with @Xerobull for Ferris being the goat and @KingCheetah with Mean Girls deserving a mention.

I miss the hell out of Britney Murphy though. Talented af. No telling what she could have been today. Sigh. :(

The answer is neither. That would be Dazed and Confused

That's one of the things that makes it so great. It's not just fluff. On a related note- I just read an oral history on the making of Dazed and Confused. It definitely has me looking at that movie through a darker lens.

Only read the OP's post before replying, so I hope this has been mentioned by one of you fine bbs individuals, but the correct answer is Dazed and Confused.

eta: and I was not let down. The Hangout is not clueless.

I voted Fast Times, but it’s Breakfast Club.

    Damn, so many though...

    Dazed and Confused
    Ferris Bueller
    Weird Science
    Pretty in Pink

Is Say Anything considered a high school movie?

Gotta be, right. The list goes on and on. The 80’s killed it in this genre.

Don't you ... forget about The Breakfast Club. If I have to come back in here, I'm crackin' skulls.

    That says it all.

Still prefer Dazed and Confused, but it's close to a tie.

Breakfast Club. The characters define both conformity and non conformity, which seems to me the underlying experience of being a teen even today. And I do like how they handle parents in the film as well, as even the asswipe has a moment when he tells the kids he used to be them. So it makes you think about what to be or not to be.
