Moreso than CWood? He's having an unimpressive season to me - curious what makes him a max level guy?
With every Denver loss I’m hoping they get more desperate because I only see them moving mpj if they get super desperate
They should be on the verge of desperate. The Nugs and the Celts are way underperforming. I wouldn't mind a Denver trade but don't want to end up with Harris('s contract) the way he's playing.
If it gets MPJ? I’ll take the one year albatross. he’ll be expiring at 20M next year. @Verbal Christ MPJ is 21 and has T-Mac upside. He’s not perfect or he’d be unobtainable. His injury history and bad attitude make him possible. He has much higher upside than anyone on this roster. He has MVP upside. His size and speed make him a unicorn. He’s unfinished but Silas is the master developer. He has the potential to be the face of a franchise if everything falls into place. He doesn’t need the ball to score in a way similar to KD or Klay. He’s rare. If the team can get him while retaining their own picks and Brooklyn. They should do whatever it takes.
Minnesota can’t make Kat work. How about this hardenesque type deal? https://tradenba.com/trades/zelSfl_R6 Rockets resulting lineup: Wall Dipo (or trade for another 1st rounder) then Porter Jr. starts Nwaba Tate Kat Porter Jr. Gordan (trade hopefully) Kmart Brown Patton
Thats a bold statement. I dont see what you see but I'd love to be wrong if he was a Rocket. He needs to earn that max though - it shouldnt be a forgone conclusion. That type of talent shouldnt be a 3rd of 4th option on the Nugs.
Why not? Kat is way better than Wood. The rest of the picks suck. We will still have all the rest of the Brooklyn picks and swaps. Our own 2 picks the next 2 years. Can still Flip dipo and Gordan for something. Pretty quick re-build in my opinion.
Respectfully, I think it’s pretty awful. Bordering on Westbrook level. Talk about overpaying. KAT is better than Wood, sure, but the extent to which is unclear. Wood is the better value, though. That much is undeniable. Their on paper numbers are identical and Wood gets you there at half of the price. Plus, it’s not like KAT is some sort of bonafide alpha with an extensive resume. He doesn’t bring any credibility to the franchise. Dude has played on one winning team. One playoff appearance. The latter of which he got chewed up by Clint. KAT is a good player and all, but definitely not worth Wood + 4 FRP’s + 2 SRP’s. That’s madness, IMO.
Maybe you’re right about Wood, although Kat has an extra year. I just don’t really value all these crap picks we have. Maybe you could talk them into Dipo or Gordon instead, but I doubt it.
@luckyman76 Kemba with 18 points by halftime tonight (02/26/2021). 41% from 3 the last 6 games. Don't ever doubt me again bro
I hate Blake so much. Detest him, but Wall is just slowing down the process with KPJ needing some time to allow him to sink or swim with the best talent in the world. I don’t know If Wall is going to get insecure and grimey with KPJ plus we need bigs. Ugh. Any other big severely underperforming their contract maybe? I don’t even know why Detroit even does this taking on the extra year in salary? Picks?
Wall for Blake straight up without any compensation is a terrible trade for us. Even with Wall’s last year.
Tucker for Obi Toppin Knicks get a vet for Thibs who can give them nice playoff minutes We get a guy over 6'5 to play PF (6'9! Real size!) Toppin may not be a great fit here defensively, but it would be a really good opportunity for him to play starter minutes and run up some stats, and become an asset going forward.
