Assuming for a moment that he is not, in fact, some sort of deity, he will at some point die of taco bowl, sun-lamp melanoma, or other more natural causes. Will the GOP cease to exist when that sad day arrives? :(

Of relevance, and especially educational for younger audiences...

The GOP has no desire to govern or improve this country. Let it splinter and die as it’s revealed that it’s base is nothing but the dregs of society only interested in preserving a Neanderthal mindset in a modern world.

The Republicans will continue to falter as they begin to shape their party into you’re either with us or against us. There will be no room for honest discussion or ideas internally. Romney and others will try to make the radical right understand that you won’t win the majority with conspiracy theories and hatred in a country that continues to become more diverse, inclusive, tolerant and educated. But they will turn on him and anyone who doesn’t drink the koolaid.

Let them burn up and hopefully out of the ashes the real Party of Lincoln may re-emerge.

The GOP isn’t dying, especially with Democrats becoming more radical. The GOP is excellent at wedge politics and catering to one issue voters.

Dems are a one size fits all party.

Will always have trouble against people who want to play by jungle rules who are intolerant of weakness or those one issue voters.

True, but they fail miserably in getting their message(s) across to John Q Public.

"I'm not a member of any party. I'm a Democrat." Will Rogers.

Rhetorically it is always easier to speak from the ends than it is from the middle. Compromise by nature is always easy to attack from the sides and extremists are always going to have more energy than moderates.

Has has compromise worked for the past 40 years for the median American? Last time I checked housing, education, healthcare have far excesses the pace of inflation without wages matching those rising costs. More and more new families are being priced out of the housing market. More and more families are turning into life long tenants. Great job compromise.

Compromising in the backdrop of unlimited campaign donations from corporations and the revolving door between industry and the legislative process isn't sincere compromise.

Maybe consider why people are going into the extremes more and no it isn't just social media. Frustration leads to people being hooked on extreme content.

20 years from now when we raise the min wage to 12 dollars an hour, when the median home value is 500k and median rent is 2000k a month, we'll all laugh about this in the backdrop of increased sporadic riots. It'll be good times.

But we did compromise and we'll feel good about.

You are right there are a lot of problems but it's easy to point out problems. It's much harder to get agreement on how best to solve them.

Understand frustration leads to people being hooked on extreme content because extreme content that rails about the problems that we experience is very appealing. That doesn't mean it leads to much getting done and as we saw on Jan. 6th extremism rather than leading to progress often leads to destruction.
