Wizards are a team that probably would be better if it weren't for the odd season we were having. A lot of Covid protocol kind of stuff and a lot of injuries. On paper, they looke like a playoff team in the east. Hachimura is full of potential, love the rookie Avidalla (sp?), Bertans is a sniper, and Beal is obviously an all-star caliber player along with Russ. I'm not surprised that now that they are more stable roster wise that they are turning it around. Would be a fun first round match up to see Russ vs KD/Harden just for the storylines so I'm rooting for that to happen.
I'm happy with the trade. Good thing they look more competitive. Hoping we get their draft pick this year or next. No preference.
wizards make the playoffs, we get a draft pick. John Wall gets healthier and better every game he plays. I'm not seeing a reason for sour grapes. It's an eastern conference team with a miserable legacy. No reason to hate on any of their success. Russ was gone either way.
Ehh doesn't matter but I'd still take wall. Hes having a surprisingly good season after the 2 years off.
Don't we get the Washington FRP if they make the playoffs? Edit: The pick is lottery-protected through 2023, Top-12 in 2024, Top-10 in 2025, Top-8 in 2026 and becomes two second-round picks in 2027, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. I don't care what y'all say... that's not THAT protected. We will get a first rounder out of the deal and I'd put money on that. It can be the 9th pick in 2026.. that's not significant protection. No way they're of the worst 12 teams for 3 years straight.
