i think it's really unfair to judge Silas based on the production so far. As folks have said, lots of injuries, huge roster changes, a fundamentally unbalanced roster makeup. Did i mention that our best shooter is Eric Gordon, who has disappointed the last 3 years and who you can't depend on to stay healthy? Come on. Silas deserves a fair shot. I'm gonna wait till he gets through a full season with a stable roster to really judge. He gets a clean slate next year as far as i'm concerned. On Stone, i agree with folks who were disappointed in the Harden trade. To not get back a young player to rebuild around is a really tough pill to swallow. I'm not excited about gambling our 2nd best player in franchise history for picks that may never pan out. I think we needed picks and a building block. Vic is not that building block. We need to move him before the deadline. Extending a guy with his injury history, that hasn't proved his value with this team would be a mistake. But if you look at the Wood signing and some of the other things Stone has done, you can't say he's been bad. For me the judgement will be, can he retool the roster so that we are not the little people of the league? Can he get something for our expiring contracts? Can he bring in some shooters? Can he manage our cap so that we have room to sign impact players? Lastly, i want to see his vision and strategy for rebuilding this team. That's not clear to me yet. So i would say reserve judgement on Stone and let's see what the roster, our cap flexibility, and our asset pantry look like next year.
Not the equivalent, he's a athletic Chuck Hayes But the fact you'd be willing to trade your franchise player for a guy who can't score outside of 2ft says everything about you
also, i think we all have to agree that getting Wall and a 1st for Russ was a good move on Stone's part...given available alternatives.
LOL That is some desperation, clinging to that Chuck Hayes comparison. Your ignorance has been saved for prosperity for all to see.
I think you’re confusing it with the Pistons pick. Wizards pick is almost a lock to convey. Both will convey because teams will get antsy and reduce the protections due to Stepien. Things change in the NBA quickly.
If anyone is misremembering it's not me, Wizards will be bottom of the NBA and picking in lottery for many years to come. Pistons FRP is even more heavily protected but the protections on Wizard pick are also extreme, especially for a perennial loser like Washington franchise. "BREAKING: Russell Westbrook traded to Wizards for John Wall, first-round pick Rockets Wizards trade - The Dream Shake" https://www.thedreamshake.com/platform/amp/2020/12/2/22149404/breaking-russell-westbrook-traded-to-washington-wizards-for-john-wall-first-round-pick-nba
really? I thought the 2023 first-round pick is lottery protected for the Wizards. If it doesn't convey in that year, it has a succession of protections that include picks Nos. 1-12 in 2024, picks 1-10 in 2025 and picks 1-8 in 2026. Is that not accurate? If that is accurate i would humbly disagree that the pick is unlikely to be conveyed. In fact, it seems like it could become a valuable pick.
The pick is lottery-protected through 2023, Top-12 in 2024, Top-10 in 2025, Top-8 in 2026 and becomes two second-round picks in 2027, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. When do you believe Wizard will NOT be picking in top 10, nevermind the lottery?
Stone has done a brilliant job. Stop crying. Morey left Stone with nothing to work with and he has retooled the draft stock and has more time to get more. We were not going to beat the Lakers even with Capela
Are you watch the game? JA is kicking Rockets ass all over the court. Stone has done jackshet to help Rockets.
lol Wood signed himself did he ? You're over reacting thinking Allen was coming to us in the trade, he was never coming to Houston Stop going crazy as some fans do when their team is having some hard times Stone has been brilliant and there are more moves to make. If you can't hack supporting a team on the rebuild, i don't think you should be in here for awhile
If you weren't such a dumb fvck, you'd know that Morey went after Wood LAST SEASON and was planning to go after him in FA this season. Stone was just following Morey's plan. Stone is a loser, just like the team he's built.
Coach Silas is the perfect man for the tank job. I’m satisfied with Stones moves, as they have allowed us to suck and have a chance at a low 1st rd pick. It’s good to see The Tilman on board. I would hate to be on the road to mediocracy again.
Is anyone concerned that the NBA created the lottery to avoid tanking? The 7th and 8th worst teams got the 1st and 2nd picks two years ago. We can get the 4th worst record and end up giving OKC the 5th or 6th pick.
This dumbass FO traded away the best player in the league for scraps. People can keep with the false hope those picks will amount to something but they won’t. Brooklyn is to ****ing good. They didn’t get back a single young building piece lol. Could have had Allen or better yet Simmons but they ****ed that up because the owner is an absolute tool. It’s almost comical how bad they ****ed this Harden trade up. But then again Tilman is a putz and can’t do a single thing right. His restaurants and casinos suck too. Next decade or whatever is going to be rough with the clowns in charge.
