I think everything she says should be addressed but that does not mean this facility should not be opened under these circumstances.

Strange. AOC in her initial tweet say it will NEVER be OK. Someone adds a little context and put the question back to AOC and she responds by saying “an immediate improvement would be to license these places”. So which is it: never OK or OK if licensed?

I was confused by AOC on this. Seems like it's a good option on how to house these kids temporarily. If anything, the system does need to move quicker to get these kids out of this place, but it doesn't appear to be a long term deal. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Not sure if there is a better way that wouldn't be a logistical nightmare.

 

AOC has serious charisma....... that is not always a good thing.

Does "immediate improvement" mean "Now its OK"?

Maybe she recognizes that the whole system is bad (not OK), but practically there are things that can be done to make it less bad.

 

Never OK means just that. So which is it? Never OK or OK with conditions, which isn’t the same as never OK.

If it’s OK with a “license” then maybe she should take this position straight away and introduce legislation in this regard. She had 4 years under Trump to do this.

 

What is the end destination for these kids when they begin the journey northward? Are there families (aunts/uncles/grandparents/etc.) they're trying to get to, a target location, or just sent with the hopes they make it to the U.S. and let the system sort it out?

 

Gentlemen, obama had moral intentions when erecting these containers. Biden has no choice but to use them. Trump had a choice and he sucks.

 

Trump seperated kids from their parents at a systemic level to the point where children stayed months in centers that were designed for 72 hr stays.

You keep ignoring why people were pissed at Trump. Now I believe you are trolling and not sincere.

At least America there is a chance to get out of the hood. A lot harder in Mexico or the other Latin countries.

 

They are trying to get them to their families on this side. I'm sure there are a few special cases that isn't the case and I'm not sure how that is handled.
