Yup, and then all the good players look to FA or for trades to get the hell out of there to a winning culture.
Does adding Bucks pitiful FRP + Dipo make the comparison more to your liking? Philly trade was still better. Even removing the Simmons vs. Dipo talent AND potential comparison. 3 playable players + 3 FRP > 1 playable player 2 scrubs + 4 FRP.
Technically we got 8 first round picks. We have no idea how many first Morey was actually offering. But it seems like he didn't want to raise the protections like the Nets did. This will be a discussion for years but we won't know the end result til 2027. 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 are gonna be key. Who do we get with those picks cuz those are the ones after the Brooklyn team is no longer in their prime.
Kyrie Irving is 29 and Harden, at 31, is currently averaging 24/12/8 on 67%TS in Brooklyn. What is this fantasy that those picks are going to be worth anything? Ben Simmons is a young all-NBA player locked up for multiple years. He’s easily worth more than crapshoot picks from a good organization - and Morey was willing to trade crapshoot picks on top of Simmons anyway. The Harden trade was terrible - because the Rockets organization is terrible.
It's more about KD. I've never been a big Kyrie guy. How many years does KD have of being a top 5 player. Once he falls the Nets will go under. Harden only under contract for 2 more years. I pray the twin a ship soon because he may comeback when he has a ring. For all you know he could be a Rocket again in 2024 and we would own all the Nets picks.
Rockets got 4 swaps in addition to 4 low FRP. Swaps dont count as picks, best case scenario they are higher picks. Rockets would have easily received 3 swaps with 76ers, at least, if Stone had brought Nets offer to Morey. We all know how much Morey loves Harden.
Absolutely. It would be a disservice to Woods's talent if management thinks of going in a complete rebuild mode with just draft prospects. Would be nice to see if the Rockets can manage to land a proven star.
No updates on any of these hurt guys. It’s frustrating. Literally went from not seeing it to not seeing anything.
Dipo is that one player you see fantasy stats and highlights on and think wow he is a great player, but in reality he is super mediocre. Another example: Aaron Gordon.
Dude. How the hell are you comparing what Simmons has done in the playoffs to what Harden has done? Maybe Harden was a dud sometimes in late playoff situations as opposed to Simmons being a dud mostly throughout the entire playoffs.
Tilman didn't want any long-term money so the Rockets ended up with a washed up Oladipo and a poo-poo platter of undesirable picks - for a top 3 player in the league. Laughable.
