That is not a lot of games to get starting pitching up to speed. Really going to need some long arms in the pen early in the season.

I am counting on you Astros to have a good year. We as fans need it for having to deal with crappy owners from our other two teams.

If Straw could be a productive lead off hitter... this offense will be historically ELITE

    "Myles Straw is a candidate"

This is specifically for the lead-off spot. Are there other CF candidates?

Cringe. I like the part about him trying to keep the ball out of the air. While the batting order isn't too important as long as best 6 hitters bat in some order in the top 6 spots, Straw is not one of the best 6 hitters. Batting him leadoff means about 200 less plate appearances combined for Bregman, Alvarez, Altuve, Tucker, Correa, and Brantley.

Agreed. How is Straw not the perfect "2nd leadoff," aka the 9 hole?

Baker’s Straw lead-off comment looks like classic motivation fluff to me. I don’t think there’s any substance behind it....FO would not allow that & Dusty knows it. Straw may be a prototypical lead off hitter from 1800-2015, but that’s not where the league is right now. Regardless, hopefully Straw comes into camp confident and really shows out...

I'm not sure Dusty knows it. Dusty got away with it last season as Straw was the leadoff hitter most often when it wasn't Springer. I don't think it was worth it to Click to discuss with Dusty over 3-4 plate appearances last season.

Click was asked who will bat leadoff. Click said he and Dusty need to discuss it as well as find out which players are comfortable batting leadoff and which aren't.
