Rather trade Dipo for a mediocre FRP and then trade Wood for picks too.

Go on realgm Trades and Transactions. You'll find homers from other teams rationalizing just such a move. More deluded than QAnon followers.

Not a trade, but Jsut based on years pass umm expecting to be highly disappointed by March 25th. We haven’t made a mid season/deadline deal I approved of in years. Not since Lou Williams

I wonder if the Rockets could get Okpala for Cousins.

No I didn’t like Covington. Only reason I’m ok with it is because it allowed us to get Wood. I’m talking strictly trades.

Im not a fan of this small ball experience. You got to have players that player bigger than their size and athletic. Getting killed on the boards by a Cody Zellner like he’s prime Shaq isnt my idea of fun times

    2 factors mainly

    1. He's only got 2.5 years left on his deal, after that he can A. Jet, or B. re-sign, which he's likely to get a 100 mill deal with his level of play, and at that point, he's likely no longer an asset.

    2. To me, he just doesn't have the potential to be a #1 on a contender, he's a great #3 option, and mediocre #2. His frame just won't allow him to get a bucket whenever he wants like a true #1 and even a good #2 option needs to be able to do.

If you combine those 2 really significant factors, what's the incentive of keeping him, with the potential of him walking in 2.5 years, with the potential of only being able to retain him on an overpaid contract, with him not being a great #1 or #2 option on a true contender

Then you factor in that he makes our 22 & 23 picks worse by winning games, and hurts our chances of landing that top 4 this year.

IF he can land a good haul to help fuel our rebuild, to up our assets so we can land a true #1 (the most important thing for a ring), I say trade him this deadline. If he can't land a good haul right now, check again in the off season, and next deadline.

Agree, Celtics roster is trash for a major trade. Don't want anything to do with the Thompson's or Teagues of the league. But, one guy strikes me as a Tucker 2.0. A&M kid R Williams. Only 24, promising rebounder and money around the rim. Does not have Tucker's 3 ability. Youth is on his side.

Let's say Tucker for Williams and 2 Rd pick. That stingy b*stard Ainge should agree to this.

hard pass. Williams if anything should be getting more minutes now and I think we will see that as the season progress as they were nursing a hip injury for him. He’s also only 23 not 24 actually and he’s more important to the next few years imo then a pj tucker at 36 who also wants an extension and if u don’t give it to him you basically traded Williams potential for 40 games of pj tucker

I had wondered this several weeks ago but didn’t wanna ask because I knew it would get killed here. Woods has been great for you guys but I do think if you can get a few 1sts for him and other stuff there’s def a case to sell him now. Also can you guys not wanting to trade also

    You're like a shark.

When there's blood in the water, you are back here with your Bill Simmons takes.

Wood (no s) is untouchable to me. Tate, Wood and KPJ are untouchables for now.

Everyone else can be your chum in the water.

Also I wouldn't trade Eric for Smart either, it makes little to no sense for either team. Eric is clearly better but Smart means too much to Boston to trade.

There's nothing realistic on your roster worth trading for unless it's FRPs. Pritchard, Nesmith, Williams are all overhyped for now.

I do think we should trade him, but only for a good haul. I'd pass on a couple of protected mid-late 1st.

A couple of late lotto's? Yes

A pick in the 6-9 range? Yes

A really interesting prospect like MPJ? Yes
