Got down to 6F on mon night. Are your breaks in the elbow area? I'm a bit surprised, by as I think SpaceGhost here said, water expands 9% when frozen and I think it expands in all directions (iow, it just doesn't expand laterally alone the pipe). So, it would make some sense that elbows, where water might remain, can break.
One of the cracks is right at the fitting for the cutoff valve under the sink about an inch long and another at an elbow
One thing I noticed when I worked in the industry was that most people don't really calculate their electric bills (understandable) and, just like everything else, if you show them a smaller number, they're happy. It's like asking why people are ok if you show them a smaller car payment but at higher interest rates or longer payment periods. Also why negotiations start with "what kind of payments are you looking for?" because they'll fit you into your payments and screw you over while doing it. The other thing is that people tend to think if it gets out of hand, they can switch over to some other plan without noticing whether or not they're locked into their current plan for "x" number of months. Or once they've switched to the plan, they just forget about it. BTW, Griddy urged customers to leave them (lol) a few days ago because they knew this was coming.
I have the answer. Someone just needs to plug the hole leaking the Helium reserve in Amarillo. A thumb should do it.
Texas officials block electricity providers from sending bills, disconnecting utilities for nonpayment
Speaking of birds, one of those cute birds ended up dead at my front door after the low temperatures. I also saw a few birds in my backyard up against my fence just staring at it. I don’t think they were having a good time. It was the “Blair Bird Witch”. I mourn for the cute dead bird. If I would have known you were at the door, then I would have let you in. Sniffle
Anyone have any plumber recommendations for League City area? My tenants left the city right before the winter storm and turned off the valve, but when they came back... a pipe still bursted. The contacts that I had for the area aren't responding, and I'm hoping to get one scheduled at the very least!
Hope I don’t get sick drinking this water. (Has anyone cooked with or consumed water since the boil notice lifted? Of course assuming you have water.)
