You don't need to play "small ball" to win in the modern NBA.

But you do need people who are agile enough to defend in space and bring something to the table on the offensive end. Finding tall players who can do that while having solid overall awareness is really f**king hard.

Most tall players are too slow, and if they do have the tools they're stupid.

Sad news, was hoping the best for boogie, but can't say I'm surprised.

With the way the league is now, and where he's at at this point in his career, asking him to get out there and guard so many agile guards and forwards that can pullup with more and more accuracy is so taxing on him. You can't get away with playing drop coverage nearly as much anymore. And if we're not going to let him post him as much (or if he's just not able to produce from there), then we're losing more than we're gaining with him. I wish we at least looked at giving him some more touches down there to at least see what he can do but either he and/or the coaching staff thought it was fine to let him only spot up from 3 on offense.

It worked lol. As well as it could have. Look at how the Lakers's decimated other nba teams with big players. PJ Tucker is a great small ball center. He just shoulndt be asked to play that many minutes of it all the time.

This isn't chess where after u earned the title gm u r gm for life. One can argue that players past their prime and declining are no longer superstar, so no harden did not have superstar join him. Superstar titles aren't for life.

We haven't won one in 25 years, we arent winning anytime soon.

Damn, Boogie was running his mouth reckless only to get his ass kicked out as soon as the opprotunity arose.

    Tough luck I guess.

    False.

The Rockets wanted 4 players on the court that could shoot on the perimeter because Westbrook could not.

The Rockets added a large SF in Covington.

The Rockets tried like hell to trade for Christian Wood to play center and the Rockets also tried to get Noel or Holmes.

The Pistons decided to turn down a number one from the Rockets and hold on to Wood. The asking price for Noel and Holmes wasn’t reasonable.

Westbrook/Harden/Covington/Tucker/Wood really isn’t small but they could shoot well enough theoretically to make Westbrook playable... they also had the option of going Westbrook/Gordon/Harden/Covington/Wood.

Tucker was never supposed to be the full time center. I suppose someone could be upset Morey underestimated the market. However what he was trying to pull off (Covington/Wood) > (Capela) and upgrade at two positions.

Hopefully we bring in both Ilyasova and Dedmon. We are so thin up front we could use a few bodies with Boogie heading out of town.

    Thanks for the memories Boogie!

Cavs and Detroit are looking like they are going tank mode.

With the incredibly myopic Wizards deciding to try to win games, the Rockets are VERY close to the 3rd-4th seed in the draft lottery.

This is a lost season from a competitive standpoint so the Rockets really need to clean house and go the high lottery route the next couple of years.

The Rockets need to do Tucker a solid and deal him.... see if anyone will give expiring deals or any assets for Eric Gordon... deal Oladipo and cut McLemore... dangle Nwaba for a high second and see if anyone wants House.

Why bring in anyone that won’t be part of the team when the Rockets are good again? Play Patton or trade for Bamba or give someone young in the D League or overseas a short... old guys like the names you mentioned are for contenders and not pretenders.

yeah, PJ needs to get dealt ASAP

Are the Rockets really gonna subject him to being the full time 5 again until Wood comes back? Start working the phones and get him outta here. He serves no purpose here, he deserves to be on a contender.

remain cousins as backup center or get new draft picks. I think Christian wood is a easy injury person. Keeping Cousins is good

I think they're making room for other players coming in.
Look for Oladipo and/or Tucker to be going out in a trade.
They also need to give Kurucs the boots.
    Put Danuel out the House.
    Show Exum the exit.
