He was here for 8 seasons. What exactly did he help us win during that time? A couple Western Conference Semi Finals Championships? Go follow your bum idol and cheer for the Nets ‘clown’.

What did the Rockets do in the 15 years before him? Not a damn thing. U based your whole identity on hating Harden and the team when they were good. Clown behavior. Now that your obsession is gone, you’re struggling to find a new slant.

Dream is the standard for which 99ers judge all Rockets superstars by
Is this standard too high for many fans?

I rode the wave of the back to back championships. Rockets backdoored twice now it’s call Twoston. Choke City to Clutch City. Never underestimate the heart of a champion. Etc. Etc. That was over 25 years ago, soon to be 30 years ago and sadly most people outside of Houston don’t even fully respect our titles because Jordan didn’t play. Let’s not act like this is title town. We are not the Lakers or Celtics. WCF appearances are not the ultimate goal, but how many have we been to since Dream went to Toronto?

There’s a lot of kids born after the 90’s that didn’t get to enjoy the pleasure of watching Dream play and NO.... YouTube clips do not count.

Yes. We will never have a player like Hakeem ever again in the league. Even Harden, a gifted player, will be hard to find. And not many players of his caliber want to be in Houston.

Its unrealistic to say we want a player who has 50% of Hakeem abilities and potential to play in Houston with 100% loyalty. It just will never happen.

It’s impossible to recreate the 90s
Shania Twain > Taylor Swift and she never sold out

nowadays? That don’t impress me much

now we are back to being the Charlotte Hornets of the WC...maybe in 5-10 years we can get back to the baseline of what a typical Harden season was

we won just 1 playoff series in 15 years before Harden and that 2015 season...like u said, this isn’t some organization swimming in championships like the Lakers and Celtics

all these “championships or gtfo” people better not have been glorifying those 14th pick teams because of “ball movement” and “heart” or whatever BS

I think its time you admit Harden is a damn good player. The stubbornness doesn't make this forum a better place.

WC Finals appearances, afaik, is not a bad thing. If you want that traded for < 1% chance at a lifer superstar that'll get us championships, you're delusional. We will never see another Hakeem. Sorry that life gets worse but thats how things are sometimes.

lol I lived through the Yao/tmac era. Constant disappointment losing to trash Utah jazz teams every years. 22 game win streak just to lose in the 1st round( what a waste)

imagine the blazers making a TRADE LILLARD thread because the blazers haven’t won a title yet. Harden has been with Brooklyn less than 20 games and is arguably more beloved by the nets fanbase than he ever was in Houston outside of hardens rookie year. All people ever did was criticize hardens style of play. Even though we routinely had a top 2 offense every year. Now that harden leaves, the rockets have a bottom 10 offense in the league. While the team harden joined went from being the 7th best this season to the best offense in NBA HISTORY

I hope we learn from this trade harden thread. That the next time we get a superstar. Like a legit superstar on the rockets threads like this will be banned

Christian wood bless his heart is a promising young player but is already showing the signs of being injury prone. Harden had ankle turns similar to what wood had and played through it. Harden being a superstar being available EVERY NIGHT playing heavy minutes is not normal. And is another luxury the nets have as they can rest Durant and Kyrie and have harden still win them games.

Lol. 99ers fan always like to sht on the present players/posters and reminiscent about the past. Imagine discussing with another bb fan from a different franchise y we r a great franchise. Well we won 2 rings almost 25 years ago. Aside from harden gracing our uniform (which some of u guys hate), just gonna keep bringing up those 2 rings? Kinda pathetic.

I never said he wasn’t a good player. He’s actually quite amazing... during the regular seasons. My thing was I didn’t believe he’d carry us to a Championship here being the #1 guy and guess what that’s what he was always going to be cause LeBron ain’t walking through that door, KD ain’t walking thru that door etc. Was I wrong? He realized this and walked thru KD’s door instead. He’s actually smart for it and I’m not even mad. I only wished he bounced sooner.
