I know nothing about Patton, but I will be interested to see how well he can handle himself in pick and roll situations. One of the challenges with many bigs is that they don't have good hands and when rolling struggle to finish the ball near the basket in the few instances they corral the ball and bring it in. That's actually a really low bar when you think of it, but if Patton can do that much, he will do more than enough to stabilize the position for the time being.
Patton looks like a hit or miss rotational player. 16th pick, so there's talent there. Injury questions, but worth the risk. Thinking this is just a Vipers move. Give KPJ a little help in his development. The Rockets much needed front court help will come from the return for VO and Tucker. Best to keep Porter in G League until Wood gets back on the court. Surprised by how well Martin is playing. Depending on trades, think his Rocket development will be brought on a lot slower. But have to admit, he looks good.
Man I've heard this low risk low reward line too many times. When's the last time one of these actually/ever hit for us? I'm being honest here, drawing a blank.
We got both Wood and Porter Jr thru the bargain bin. I'd say its working well so far we havent even used our pick yet but already have some nice young talent on what was previously the oldest squad in the league.
Lol. Those two u mentioned were obtained through trading. This is different. Age means nothing, it's all about talent.
