Have had power since 4:30 PM yesterday in Pearland with no outages. Hope everybody else is recovering as well.
Uninterrupted power has been back in my part of Spring Branch since last evening. No pipe bursts so far, but I guess the final moment of truth will be when I turn the main back on, which I do not plan to do until Saturday. I shut it off and drained the faucets when the neighborhood lost all water pressure.
Yeah, we're not going to chase the power. We'll stay at in laws one more day, and hopefully this will die down. I had cut the water off to my house, and I might just not turn it on until Friday/Saturday.
Don't want to jinx it but it looks like the worst is behind us. I am always impressed with Texans when it comes to helping their neighbors.
Wow. We actually hit 30 degrees today... yaaay! Regular above-freezing temps are around the corner -- hopefully by Saturday. Of course they're forecasting 70 degrees by next week. Geez.
Power and water have been stable at my Mom's house and our house. Thank God. I hope it stays that way. We're looking to go back to our house tomorrow.
So, I'm out front with my dog. She (my neighbor) inquires how I'm doing and I ask how their doing. Aside from having to shut our pools down early on in the storm, no real problems yet. Then, she mentions our city has put out a boiling water and conservation notice. We may run out in 48 hours if we don't start conserving...because all the damage done to mains and extra consumption. Except, I've been drinking the water as I didn't get the notice. Oops! And, we started talking about water being out at the stores. She said they found a place and got some. Then, she gave me a half of a case as I only have like three bottles. I have very nice neighbors!
Busted pipes at two of my properties, but I am still grateful no one is hurt! Allegedly Home Depot have long lines and are out of many supplies, so if you're go to plumbers didn't have supplies on deck, you'll have to find another one.
Went outside today and thought the 36 degree weather felt nice...I'm becoming a Northener... We need our weather back dammit
I’ll take getting my plumbing fixed within the next month. Sooner and I’ll just be pleasantly surprised. Fortunately the in laws live about 3 minutes away.
I was about to go further in fixing my pipes but before I did I did a visual inspection of the pipes in the attic.....yup, time for a plumber. There's multiple breaks all over the place.
