You may want to re-assess your Beto vs. Cruz conclusion given that Beto (whom isn't a public servant at the moment) is actively trying to help Texans during this crisis while Cruz just bailed to Cancun. You may disagree with Beto on policy. But you cannot deny that he is a man of far greater character and integrity than Cruz.
He's a good man, he's not a good politician. It's a shame his dumbass Presidential campaign ruined him for statewide elected office in Texas.

I would imagine it has to do with northern states having the proper trucks to safely deliver mail in those conditions, plus the equipment to keep the roads open. We don't have that. Back to Cruz:
