So will Generac triple their prices after this due to increased demand?

MUD turned off my water without warning. I was tripping thinking my pipes froze or burst.

wayyyy too cold for me to be trying to read a water gauge.

So we were without power since 2am Sunday, 43 degrees in the house. Today my pipes burst, water everywhere. Tonight we got power back around 10 pm but I developed a cough and a fever of 104. In the hospital now. The last five years have been the worst ever. Tax day flood, Harvey flood, and now this.

We’ll see what the test results show. When I was dealing with the pipes my gloves and shoes got wet. I have polyneuropathy so I didn’t feel it. I should have checked them. Hope it’s pneumonia. I got my vaccine Saturday.

Power came back on after 40+ hours being out. Water is still out though. How do I know if it's just bad pressure or if pipes have burst?

Once everything thaws you'll hear it and see it if your pipes burst. Hopefully that won't be the case, good luck

Power just came back on in the Katy/Fulshear area after about 36 hours without. House was down to 53 degrees so very thankful. Hopefully all my CF brethren are safe and warm.

I’m starting to believe in the rolling blackouts now. I live near the Galleria. My power went out about 8 hours ago so I’m grateful I kept the heat high beforehand. It’s probably still near 70 in my apt. Sleeping in the bathtub tonight because it’s the warmest part of the house by far and don’t know when to expect power

Pipe burst in Austin apartment. My unit is basically gone. Apartment manager let me stay in a model unit. Saved whatever I could. This is a nightmare. Honestly sort of hope I don't wake up.

Any reason why people are not turning their water off at the main?

If this is a good option, the city and state should provide good direction.

That was my initial plan but I couldn’t figure out how to drain all the pipe (maybe just turn on all the faucets?). My neighbor said that there would still be water in the pipe and with it not moving and if it’s half full, it freezes over easier - not sure if that makes sense.

Anyhow, I ended up turning up my gas water heater to the higher temp (I had no power) and turn on the faucets thinking that the cold and hot lines run together so that hot water would help prevent freeze on the cold lines. Outside went down to 11 and my attic was in the low 20. House in the 50. Thx goodness pipes are fine.

My power: off 1+ day, on 1 day, off 1.5hr, on 1hr, off 6hrs, now on.... grateful for power in between but this randomness is crap

Lost power 6 PM Monday, got it back 7 AM today. Still on but we will see. Heating up house now. Still have running water, pipes haven't frozen yet.
