Sure. We can agree to disagree, but it is not debatable that Ben Simmons is the frontrunner for DPOY right now. Dipo, who's greatest strength is defense, is nowhere near that. And never mind having the versatility to lockdown 1-5. Not to mention Simmons is a top 15 passer and the BEST 3ball passer in the NBA.
Everyone should agree than Simmons is better than Oladipo. But I'm glad we don't have Simmons. I don't want this team to have false hope and think they can actually win. The faster they realize they need to tank and bottom out the better.
Tank for a future. Look how fast the Clippers were able to rebuild once they got picks and players for Blake, DJ and CP3. Even if they never used those picks. They have value to get assets.
Not sure why Ben Simmons would be preferable for a team who struggles offensively. A glorified 3rd option on a team without a first or second?
Without Wood plus Silas penchant to minimize minutes for the HOUnds, defense has plummeted in the last 5 games. Simmons as small ball switch everything 5 would make the HOUnds, a veritable HOUnds from HELL. Rockets are also bottom in the NBA in passing and rebounding, Simmons fixes THREE critical areas. On offense, Simmons creates more wide open 3's than any other player not named Harden. And he gets his points at the rim and in transition, 2 of easiest ways to score per analytics.
The Harden trade keeps looking worse and worse. Received literally no good picks or players for an MVP-caliber talent on a multi-year contract. It takes real skill to be that incompetent.
here is to hoping rockets have made a deal with silver under the table to leave harden for nothing in order to get a guaranteed lotery win
Nah. This team is loaded with first round picks now for the next half decade. We have a couple of potential future studs in guys like KPJ and KMJ along with Wood who currently is a star level player.
Harrison Barnes was never a sure thing and the shine and there were rumblings the Wiggins did not have a motor leading up to the draft. Those are not good examples of being a sure thing the last ure thing was AD from what I can recall.
So we are assuming Brooklyn is going to be good in 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27? Also, we are assuming Rafael Stone is going to do nothing with Victor and Exum in March? Patience. 1. Whatever Rafael gets for Victor, Exum, 10m TE 2. Mil 2022 Unprotected 1st. VS. 1. Jarrett Allen expiring 2. Caris Levert and Taurean Prince on sizable contracts. The verdict on this deal is still very much alive.
The Rockets are decidedly not loaded with picks and don’t even own the best pick - their own this year. KPJ and KMJ are g-leaguers. Wood was a good pick up - that’s about it.
Harden never missed the playoffs with a varying cast of supporting players while a Rocket. Now he’s in the East, with KD. In the long term, you want unprotected picks from teams with poor management. You know, like the Rockets. The Nets are managed well so those picks are mediocre to bad. Oladipo, Exum, and the trade exception have literally no value.
