Great post Amel. That is my key frustration watching the games since House’s return. He is an awful player who deserted the team in the playoffs last year and keeps getting major run by this coaching staff. Also, Tucker never scores (along with House to an extent) and he keeps getting major run. Small ball and hoisting threes is getting major run. Tell me again why this new unproven coach and his staff should get a pass? I am not asking for even 30 wins from this limited team, but I can’t stomach watching House and Tucker play 30+ minutes a night. Let’s use this season as an opportunity to give the younger and quite honestly better players a chance to develop.

That they've been competitive at all is a testament to Silas' staff. The beginning of Silas' career is what I believe the kids call a "doozy".

Pandemic, Harden, this current roster iteration is a complete mess. Expensive, injured, disgruntled veterans and talented youth who need more playing time. The shining stars here are Silas, Wood and Tate.

The Rockets are rebuilding on the fly. The roster is a bunch of guys showcasing themselves for other teams. There is no way a smart person can make any intelligent assessment of Silas without acknowledging this (Which is why nobody takes your opinion seriously). The Rockets main priority isn't winning, its stocking up draft picks, developing young talent and establishing a new culture. James Harden & Daryl Morey left a stain on the reputation of this franchise, Silas is doing a fantastic job with the circumstances.

Ok. So whats the alternative to smallball? Wood is hurt and Cousins is on a minutes restriction. You guys complain but offer no reasonable solutions. Who outside of PJ and Tate can play PF or center?

They're gonna recommend a lineup that will have the same result, a loss.

My honest opinion is Silas, Tilman and Rafa are playing a long game. They want to be 8th, 9th, 10th and then participate in the play in tournament. As a lifelong rocket's fan, that's not good enough for me. Again, no source, just it would explain Silas and his bad rotations, running the same jack 3s till the canons are empty style and sending a player that should be playing , but is sent to the G LEAGUE, as if our roster is soooo good we couldn't use him.

Silas hasn’t looked good but he also has been dealt a bad situation especially for a first time coach .

    1. James Harden didn’t want to be here and it didn’t help that Silas had him defer to John Wall who he is better than .

    2. Trades the iron man Harden for Dipo. Now you have Wall and Oladipo in and out of the lineup on a team who best chances of being success is off of great chemistry. Tough to have chemistry when you are forced to have different lineups every other game due to Heath .

    3. We don’t have a backup PG

    4. We have one true center on the roster and he’s very slow . Woods to me is a PF. I guess in this era you can get away with him at the 5 though .

In reality this is a team full of inconsistent shooters and it’s showing now . Maybe they get hot again but you have to be competitive when the 3s aren’t falling and as you see now that’s not happening .

Knowing Cousins tenuous situation, why wouldn’t the coaches/gm have picked up another credible backup center like Alex Len (not Spalding...I said credible) when he was available. Rockets are always late to the party on these things. Everyone knew we needed another center with the exception of our coaching staff who always feels smallball is the answer.

If Harden and Morey ( who doesn’t play at all) were still here, folks would be b****ing about not winning the championship. Subtract them, now it’s ok if the team is crappy? But they are the stains? Ok dude.

Silas doesn’t have enough reliable players to work with right now. When he did, before Wood got hurt, this team looked amazing. Having said that, he has to do a better job of adjusting and working with what he does have. The offense is atrocious at the moment. It’s street ball. All of the ball movement and spacing that they had earlier is gone. The pick and roll has inexplicably vanished. Silas needs to fix that, and so far he hasn’t done it. I thought the Knicks game was, by far, his worst coached game. I believe in him, but Silas needs to get this group under control soon or it could get ugly.

To anyone complaining they play player x or y. They see them in practice and they must be better than alternatives. Just because someone steps on the floor for 1 min and hits lucky shot doesnt mean he js better. So if PJ and House are playing imagine how **** is their competition

not sure why we've abandoned the mid range again completely. we don't have great 3pt shooters.

It’s like we got MDA back....smallball and three pointers only. Nice to see that Silas mixed things up before reverting back to our prior style of play which didn’t work with Harden and Russ. Such an original coach. Thought we were getting a young phenom with his own system and style. Looks instead like he’s leaned on John Lucas too much and their back to last year’s annoying system.

It's like watching last year's dumpster fire of an offense all over again. I hope he starts adding the actions I've seen him use sporadically in other games. Even if they're not hitting the shots, at least there's more structure and not so much free-lancing, which is boring to watch, like Wall mindlessly dribbling for 5-7 seconds. There needs to be more movement with pre-planned intention.

This! Exactly. There were moments for hope and now it seems completely back to last year's unimaginative monstrosity of an offense - no more flare screens for EGO to get him an easier shot, no more cuts to the basket for a potentially easier shot, just try to beat the defender - wasting all of this energy - going one-on-one, while everyone else stands around, which is easier to defend - inertia, that is (no movement). They must really be trying to lose on purpose, lol. KPJ ain't joining the team, he might help us win.

Relax, we literally just got a back up for Boogie and Wood. Boogie can't play big minutes and CWood is out. Just signed rookie that could possibly help. We need to find a way to turn Kurucs into production! HE's slow, unathletic and isn't a lights out 3 shooter that I've seen so far. He's just waisted roster spot. One that could be used for GGreen or another young athletic big.
