I haven’t seen that video before. I think you are right, there isn’t enough to convict. But the situation is sad - cops need to not handle mental cases or need much better training.
I haven't followed this case closely but I agree we need to be careful about a rush to judgement. The videos so far don't look good for the LE but too me they aren't that clear.
There was a case this case which I haven't seen much coverage at all from Killeen where the family of Patrick Warren called 911 about a mental health emergency. I've been saying it for a long time. If the media and society in general would pay more attention and broadcast ALL of the shootings we may see some change. As it is now it's only makes big headlines for certain shootings. These horrible shooting happen just about ever day to whites and non-black minorities but you hardly hear about them. Ya gotta ask yourself why the national media doesn't play up these stories. Honestly, I'm not sure they want it to end. You're right about BLM. Did anyone see the white 20 year old skateboarder getting pounded on by a cop on TMZ? I was shocked Harvey decided to show it. We need to show ALL brutality of ALL citizens to get the change we need in LE.
I agree that there should be more openess and coverage. That Arizona one still bothers me. You also have to factor in that police unions have collectively bargained for the right (good or bad) to delay body cam footage releases. Many jurisdictions require a long period of time to pass before the public can even see it.
The mentally sick should not have access to guns. If you are having an emotional breakdown, you need to get yourself away from a gun. cops have very little training in deescalating situations, and are very likely to shoot if they feel in danger.
