They couldn't get a draft pick or 2?

How in the **** do you not get a trade going for him to at least get draft picks? Good luck JJ. You deserve better than this dumpster fire.

Cause you respect him enough to release him and allow him the power to choose the final stretch of his career

I think it’s a respect thing and to look good to the media

I'm ok with it. He deserves to be able to choose where he wants to go. Nothing surprises me anymore

They probably appreciated how he handled himself and wanted to do right by him.

Nobody wanted to trade for his production at that contract. Everyone thinking they could get a good pick was delusional. I was hoping we could get a 5th or something though. Texans did him a favor. Hopefully he can go play with his brothers.

JJ FREE’D! So glad you are out of this shithole franchise.

Go win a ring! You deserve it.

I’m sorry JJ. Good job, brother. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. We wasted one of your years your career. I’m sorry.

For real...get a list of 5 teams he wouldn't mind playing for and see if you can work something out.

He likely wants to go play with his brothers and they wouldn't have the cap space to trade for him.

Since he's been the face of the franchise for so long and he handled himself with class, they did right by him.

JJ is legit one of the most stand-up dudes in all of sports, perhaps in the history of American sports in general.

It's going to be very tempting to follow him to whatever team he goes to. My fandom is wide open right now. Rooting for Deshaun or JJ's eventual teams feels a LOT more appealing than ever putting the Texans on my TV again until Cal and Easterby are gone.

He had a lot of leverage. Veteran on an overpriced contract. Teams weren't going to give you anything for him when they know he's going to get released.

Always thought it was nuts to think they were getting a draft pick.

I can't begin to understand anyone still defending this organization. People in the organization and close to it all point to its dysfunction. They've created an untenable position for themselves in dealing with players. I would hope they'd wake up and see it...and I hope JJ's words to them in private made it clearer. They are an absolute joke of an organization right now.
