Well, I followed her so I knew parallel to what shet Trump was tweeting at that time as well.

I still like her as a martial artist, actress without agreeing with her.

So I would still want to watch Cara Dune.

Wow you are really pulling out the adjectives.

Not gonna turn this into a D&D thread.

Yes, they did. Why else we're they attacking her if not for her thought crime against a certain political dogma?

Well she made multiple mistakes and kept doubling down it appears. It's not "fair" but it's true that making money as a public figure comes with the downside that the entertainment companies that pay you will factor in your public image into whether they want to work with you.

Got it. Still think it's a stupid comparison. People should try to avoid comparing their perceived persecution to the Holocaust. It's just too inflammatory, your point will never get across. It always becomes about the comparison. We go through this repeatedly as a society where some famous person (actor, politician, whatever) tries to do this.

Yeah, I hope she isn't done because in contrast to your belief I do not think she is all that rich and famous as you think she is.

You could literally see her beaming when she got the role.

I know this is complicated, but when she mocked trans pronoun thing on twitter, that is her attacking other people. When she claims that democrats are stealing the election, that is her attacking other people. When she mocked someone for wearing a mask, that is her attacking other people.

Conservatives have developed this weird victim-hood where they don't understand why they get attacked for attacking people.

Also, I liked her on the show, surprised at how many people say they didn't. To each their own I guess.

People have a right to say what they want. But there are also consequences for your actions.

And they often aren't "fair" when you are talking about public opinion. It's the sucky part of a really great deal financially. I'm not saying what's happened to her ISN'T fair, but just saying that "fair" isn't part of the equation. They make more money than the average person largely based on public image and the public's desire to consume that image. So walk carefully. Or don't, that's cool too. Like Bobby said, if you care more about voicing your opinions into the ether than selling a public image I get that. That's cool, but don't say it's not "fair."

In her case, she could have seen the "initial" backlash and then stopped. She could have focused on her job on the show and kept quiet. She doubled down and the consequences are here. I liked her character on the show but I totally understand Disney's position.

It's pretty amazing that this still needs to be pointed out.

The question is if upcoming big time actors or stars should be allowed to voice their opinions, may it be controversial or not.

I think Clooney is one of the few that could in Hollywood and he hasn't been acting much, instead transforming to be a director and producer.

I think James Woods and Jon Voight have not gotten many jobs lately.

I think there is a large segment of people that have so much ego & pride that they really feel they are "above" that.

If you want to give voice to “both” sides, I don’t think what she said is necessarily worth the punishment . Certainly “some” punishment. That being said, she’s a weak link as far as acting goes......no better time than now to ditch her.

    Johny Depp was fired arbitrarily?

Do you know what arbitrary means.

He was fired for domestic abuse allegations.
