Yeah I never understand why people feel the need to go to the Nazi card. Just don't do it, it's never the right comparison. Rich and famous actress getting booted from a show is not comparable to Jews in 1930/40s Germany. FFS
The post is ignorant because the neighbors were Nazi and the "gov" that made them that way were Nazi. I agree the tweet was not that offensive but she had been edging up to that line with other tweets and its the cumulative tweets that did her in. She is also doing more saying don't be mean like a Nazi she is comparing herself on twitter to jews being persecuted. On second thought that is offensive.
Is that the same authoritarian hate mob that was in DC on the 6th? You might want to read up on where I stand with cancel culture.
No clue if you supported the riots in DC or not, that's not what we're discussing here, we're talking about the mindless authoritarian hate mobs that came after an actress for the "crime" of disagreeing with their pllitical dogma. They demanded her blind submission to the authority of their political dogma and began attacking her when she refused.
No, they didn't, but I understand why it's hard for people who think they are being treated like Jews in Nazi Germany to actually think rationally about topics.
I am not a Republican like she is at all but all she implied was that the studios and Disney behaved Nazi like. In the entertainment industry Disney and cohorts are firing people arbitrarily. I do not like the cancel culture in Hollywood at all. You can only survive being a woke liberal, that is also so very wrong.
I actually didn't love her on the show so whatevs. But I do wonder if Pedro Pascal compared Trump to Hitler would he have been fired? Probably not.
They made the decision to not move forward with her because of her tweets in November and December. This Nazi thing was just her reaction to that basically. Basically she lost her show for mocking trans "pronoun declaration," pushing the stolen election conspiracy and posting the anti-semetic meme that got Ice-T in trouble. They pulled the plug and she essentially thinks that is treating her like a Jew in 1930s Germany.
Someone gave the context that it was in the Ukraine. Carano is not A list. She might be rich but she isn't that rich.
Yep, tip of the iceberg. It's probably for the better because she was tweeting too much about things she should have researched more and not tweet out.
I don't get what that has to do with whether the comparison is stupid or not? She's still not comparable with Jews in 1930s/40s [insert country where Nazis rounded up Jews here].
She made a mistake. You don't have to get it, it is not a big deal, Disney made it a big deal for said reason. She was trying to say that Jews were beaten by neighbors and others than Nazis.
Yeah, I mean look, I'm not a cancel culture guy. I separate people's politics from their entertainment value as much as I can. Sometimes they get in a zone where I can't do that anymore, but this type of stuff doesn't cross that line for me. I would never have known about her social media stuff if she didn't get fired. With that said, entertainment companies have the right to decide how much grief they are going to endure with talent right? It's a cost/benefit analysis pure and simple. At some point if you are drawing too much negative attention or pissing off the wrong people in your company or hurting the ability to sell the product, whatever, if you aren't worth it financially they are going to cut you loose.
