I think it's more like you are overestimating the players on the Rockets. I don't think KPJ is like top 5 superstar potential but he is the most talented prospect given his age on this team.

Kevin Love who is still with the Cavs and is still teammates with Sexton flat out said that KPJ was the most talented player on their roster and was really sad that they had to let him go.

Keep in mind that he was 19 and doing advanced skillset type moves like advanced stepbacks, floaters, hesitation dribbles against NBA defenders while also being extremely explosive being able to jump through the roof. If his head was in the game he would be a top ten young talent. He's raw with his decision making skills but that's expected at 19.
