Dude is just using his power for no reason, to be honest.

That EQ manager had been with this org for 13 years. Deshaun was middle school when Parson was hired, so it doesn't have much to do with Watson, in my opinion.

Parson was here when Kubiak was coach. He was here when Phillips was coach, and he was here when BoB was coach. Unless he was bad at his job, which by all accounts is NOT the case, Parson was fired for one reason.

And that reason is that the Texans are cleaning house for no reason.

He needs to worry about bringing his franchise qb in instead equipment manager. Absolutely pathetic either way.

Excellent time to aggravate the players for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

The players deal with the equipment staff on a daily basis, and it's a huge deal for them, having someone that knows exactly how they want their gear, keeping on top of new available stuff, etc.... The front office does not. I would have just maybe talked to some players before making this decision.

    Normally, I'd agree.

But this isn't FO staff...this is basically stadium staff. It really isn't a good look, especially since the guy apparently had such a great relationship with players.

I mean, I'd say if only Watson was speaking to the GM and FO this wouldn't have happened but they could have asked ANY of the players and it sounds like ANY of the players, especially Watt, would have put in a good word for him.

I'll always be a Texan fan but if they suck through this whole Easterby thing maybe Cal sells the team, Cal doesn't care anyways.

if you think you are somehow gonna convince Deshaun to stay, its probably a pretty stupid idea to get rid of anyone he likes

They knew he liked Kelly. Maybe that’s all they could find out due to the silent treatment.

Not equipment managers who are loved in the clubhouse no.

The fact that JJ came out so publically shows whats up.

The story here isn't that a new GM fired an equipment manager so he could bring his own guy in. The story is that the GM and whatever weird title Easterby has are COMPLETELY TONE DEAF when it comes to what the players want or need. And that, clearly, player opinions about anything don't matter at all and never will.

I'm sure this philosophy won't be a problem in the future when it comes to signing potential free agents.........
