What people are forgetting is that 10th seed can still get you in the playoffs. 10th seed right now means we'd play the Blazers in a play-in and if we beat them twice we go to the playoffs. I hope they keep the play-in tourney. Makes more games meaningful and it also makes it so there is some injury insurance for teams that might drop some games they would have otherwise won with a hurt player.
What happened to our blue court? Do they actually switch the whole floorboards out each time they switch jerseys? I was looking forward to that, along with Worrell instead of Ackerman.
I wouldn’t start Nwaba in place of Dipo. Nwaba doesn’t fit with the starting lineup.we saw that a couple times already. I’d start Gordon if I had to make a switch but that would just mentally kill Dipo and any trade value so we’re stuck with him starting.
Rockets vs Opponent in FTA (13 games since Harden trade) SA 36 - HOU 25 (L) MEM 24 - HOU 17 (W) OKC 26 - HOU 13 (L) OKC 19 - HOU 11 (W) NO 29 - HOU 20 (W) POR 8 - HOU 18 (W) WAS 23 - HOU 29 (W) DAL 40 - HOU 29 (W) DET 37 - HOU 20 (W) PHX 19 - HOU 22 (L) CHI 21 - HOU 17 (L) SA 23 - HOU 27 (L) SA 16 - HOU 19 (W) More free-throw attempts by opponent in 8 of 13 games Opponent total free throws (13 games) = 321 Houston total free throws (13 games) = 267 I dove into this stat because I am not seeing the Rockets being any less aggressive than their opponent - they are not getting the same calls for whatever reason. Just one aspect of these games I find interesting...
You don't have to start David, but when he is playing as good as he was playing tonight, you have to finish with him. He really should of been in place of Tucker tonight. I really really love Tucker but I really really want us to trade him. Stone is going to have to force Silas hand just like Morey did it to Adelman when he traded Battier out of Houston.
Ugh I hate losing to the Spurs. I mean, I hate losing in general but especially to the Spurs. On to the next.
If we are going to lose anyway, then we should be playing Mason and Tate and not that cripple Oladipo.
PJ can only score from 2 spots on the floor and no where else. how many times does he get the ball wide open on the wing just to play hot potato and ruin the rhythm and flow of offense? Tate is just as good defensively while being lightyears better offensively.
Sure, “Ola! dip Oh!” sucked in this game (trade him by the deadline, please). House was up and down, Nwaba didn’t get nearly enough minutes, which is on Silas, but the refs constantly called phantom fouls, breaking our rhythm. Gordon got a tech! That’s as rare as my chick saying no. So I’m pissed off. Having two bedrooms and two hallways with water coming up through the hardwood yesterday, flooring ripped up everywhere, machines howling sucking the moisture up, drying out that part of the abode doesn’t help my mood, either. At least our master is on the other side of the house from all that crap. Oh god - Mongo’s back!
This Rockets team without Wood really lacks talent... then again we were playing a team with arguably as little talent as the Rockets (Spurs). On a serious note... when is Popovich going to start tanking. His first dynasty was built on tanking for Duncan and the last few years he has won meaningless games and missed out on star players in the draft. It feels like the Spurs have no plan for the future...
This was winnable for us. On to the recap, officiating was terrible from the start. We had chances to put pressure on the spurs down the stretch. Except we muffed the execution: 1. Eg getting cute by swinging that ball to boogie on the rightwing 3. Thats simply poor decisionmaking on eg. It was downhill for boogie from here. 2. Boogie fouling and giving freebies on the next play chasing his miss. 3. ball ending up in boogies hands again. Turnover!! 4. That 26percent ft shooter in poetl, yet cans both fts. Ouch John wall, EG, Nwaba and house showed up tonight. We need length because our small ball is not athletic enough to match the spurs.
Levert, Allen, Prince. We couldve used all of these guys but we settle for a trading piece thats value is going down each and every game
