Bottom line is the GARM has spoken and Woods isn’t playing at a superstar level.

I was wrong, durv is not Ted Cruz.

    That's all you.

Keep it going with the "superstar" BS.

No one is calling Wood a superstar.

Lol. Not every comment is about you.... I was making a comment about big man and being a superstar in response to a separate comment.

So then sum up your entire point in one sentence.... Seems like Durv is also trying to figure out your malfunction.

I'd say a superstar performance should be top 10 in at least 1 category and top 20 in at least another category. And scoring usually is a major attribute for a superstar unless the guy is elite in several other things.

Wood is 10th in blocks, 12th in rebounding, 16th in fg%, and 27th in scoring.

Barely make the top 10 in blocks. But his scoring is really not up to superstar level.

That said, he is approaching that by the numbers.

Of course I don't. But that's not the question. I'm trying to establish where the disagreement is. That's a prerequisite to any debate/argument, right?

Sure. Both are doing great. Career years. That's not being disputed either.

Can you just answer the question, so I can know if there's a real disagreement here or not.

Those are super basic numbers that you shoulndt use to evaluate impact on wether he his a superstar or not.

OK, I'll try again. You keep saying I'm running away from a debate in the other thread. We'll settle it here (this thread is more on-topic for it anyway). Just state what is the disagreement, so I know we're on the same page.

I don't think DRock even knows what the argument is, seems like it's just "you don't think Woods is a good as I do".

I cant believe it, you actually gaslighted yourself.

    LOL

You created the "superstar" narrative to discredit Wood when I argued that the Rockets need to gear more of the offense toward him due to his ultra efficiency.

You can't even keep track of your own narrative shifts to obscure the original talking points.

Wood does need the team to focus more on him or at least make him more involved in the offense. Man has shown that if u feed him the dam ball he will make dem shots. not rocket science, only excuse y i don't think this isn't happening is A) our ball handlers (wall/ego) isn't good enough to consistently get him involved B) wall ego is too high to let a youngster carry him sometimes C) wood's stamina isn't up there yet to handle it.

    You really are a Trumper....

You going to ever step up and tell us what exactly the disagreement is?

I don't think Woods was playing like a superstar but he has a lot of potential. What's wrong with that statement?

    That was never the argument.

    Are you not paying attention?

    Durv gaslighted CF.

And appears he did it to himself too, so very convenient.

    LOL

    I agree!

But among other issues this has been a challenge as Rockets are below average passing team.

As others have said (here and elsewhere), prior to this latest damn injury, Wood was playing at a level that many, likely most, considered worthy of serious consideration for being selected as an All Star. Wood’s problem in that regard, putting aside the injury, is the competition for a spot at his position. Every year there are All Star worthy players at one position or another who don’t get picked.

To be on the team, even as a reserve or a replacement player, is such a huge deal. For the player, his career, for his team and for the organization. The player carries that appellation literally the rest of his life. “Former All Star ‘fill in the blank’ will be at the opening of the new addition to Houston’s Galleria and will sign autographs.” Recognition for past achievements is not only a balm for the ego, it also helps fill your pocketbook.

Look at Eric Gordon. The highest league honor that he’s received is 6th Man of the Year. Early in Gordon’s career, being selected as an All Star would have been viewed as a good possibility, in my opinion, but injuries took their toll. Winning a championship? Eric would take that over a place on an All Star team, of course. Any player would.

As for Christian Wood? He has a bright future and we’re incredibly lucky to have him, but how good he can get will only be revealed in time. As the writer Bernard Cornwall said though a character in his novels, “Fate is inexorable.”

Which is perfectly reasonable. However D Rock has taken it upon himself to become the Woods criticism gatekeeper.

If you don’t like player “x” this amount then you hate the Rockets and hate happiness.
