I guess the Supreme Court is not unlike the rest of our government and most major corporations that wait until late Friday to release potentially unpopular and embarrassing news... and unfortunately, the health and and well-being of Americans will suffer.

Supreme Court lifts California worship bans prompted by coronavirus
The ruling issued just before 11 p.m. ET Friday produced four separate statements by the justices.

Yet the GOP party members will be the first to blame California's Governor for the deaths and spread. Talk about making a bad decision worse!

I was just talking to my dad in Hong Kong and they haven't started vaccinating anyone there. He also said that most like the vaccine they will get is the Sinovac vaccine from the PRC. Although he did mention that HK was making deals to get the other vaccines.

One thing he stated was that he personally doesn't have much trusts in the MRNA vaccines, he doesn't doubt their efficacy but is concerned about the side effects. As such he has more faith in the Sinovac one which is based off of a deactivated virus.

Freedom of worship is pretty clear in the bill of rights and imo, it should have precedent over promoting the general welfare. Bit rich for Cons to override a state reg but these ****ers aren't cute about breaking their principles while lying about old narratives

A year into this mess and Im starting to believe more and more that outright bans are an indicator of lazy governance.

It would be like forcing everyone to practice abstinence because HIV went off the rails, the testing was too hard, and the healthcare community too unprepared. Condoms "don't always work", too comfortable to work or put on, yadda yadda no sex in the foreseeable future.

And gosh darn it, people aren't taking the pandemic too seriously and can't be shamed into abstaining from sex anymore. What's wrong with these selfish people!?!

Cancer survivor too. Sad. Even sadder is it never had to be this bad if the President and his bootlickers had cared more about curbing the spread.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gokal said, he continues to pay a price for not wasting a vaccine in a pandemic. His voice broke as he counted the toll.

He lost his job. His wife struggles to sleep. His children are worried. And hospitals have told him not to come back until his case is resolved.

He spends his time volunteering at a nonprofit health clinic for the uninsured, haunted all the while by the realization that no matter what, it will still be out there: the story about that Pakistani doctor in Houston who stole all those vaccines.

“How can I take it back?” that doctor asked.

Damn. That's harsh. You would think his employers would recognize the duty of a doctor is to alleviate suffering.

What's worse is thinking how those doctors who gave 6 shots to random people on the road when they had a vial that was going to expire were hailed as heroes.

Imagine if serious attention based on reality were done during Feb 2020.

A serious president that does serious work instead of victimizing himself and his supporters, blaming others for his own failures, being a tweety god and golfing. But it would be so boring, wouldn't it @Os Trigonum ?

Biden’s Covid-19 Plan: More Gear, Funding, Testing, Data and Face Masks

President Biden on his second day in office released a national Covid-19 strategy and signed 10 executive orders and other directives as part of the plan. Here are details of what is in the plan, and specific changes that people can expect in the weeks and months ahead:

    • Increased supplies such as masks, gowns, gloves, rapid Covid-19 test kits, testing agents and material for vaccines through federal agency actions that include authorizing the Defense Production Act.
    • States and schools will see more funding. Reimbursement for the cost of National Guard personnel and supplies will increase to 100% from 75%, and a federal disaster relief fund will be tapped to cover schools’ eligible reopening expenses.
    • A federal testing board will be created to increase testing, boost U.S. manufacturing of tests, support screening for schools, and ensure equity in testing for communities of color.
    • Travelers will have to wear masks in airports and in certain types of public transportation such as many trains, ships, intercity buses and airplanes. International travelers will have to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test before departing to the U.S. and comply with self-isolation and quarantine guidelines upon arrival.
    • A federal preclinical drug discovery and development program will focus on developing and evaluating treatments for pandemic threats, and will support access to treatments for people without health insurance.
    • Publicly available dashboards with information on Covid-19 cases, testing, vaccinations and hospital admissions will be made available on a national and state basis.
    • Covid response liaisons will be established for each state as the administration supports the launch of 100 federally-backed community vaccination centers and availability of vaccines in pharmacies in the next month.
    • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will release employer guidance on keeping workers safe from exposure, and will examine establishing emergency temporary standards.
    • A federal task force will be created to offer recommendations to Mr. Biden on allocating resources and funding to communities with inequities in virus outcomes by race, ethnicity, geography, disability, and other considerations.
    • A presidential directive focuses on supporting the international pandemic response effort.

b-b-but sleepy joe stole their plan!

We need speedy testing and some semblance of contract tracing, but with reports like a third of LA possibly being/been infected, that’s a lot of horses to coral back into the barn...

I would support the ban of churches if people were not doing any number of other things not necessary during COVID and the ruling allows 25% attendance.

I would also have more sympathy is Newsom wasn't a douche bag that flaunted the rules himself.
