Dynamics of auditioning for other teams???? I hope you are joking right now otherwise you are implying that Silas has no voice or authority, that Rockets have no system or structure and that the inmates are literally running the asylum.
This was my concern with Wall. I too never watched him in Washington much but I felt it was not coincidence that Beal EXPLODED when Wall was out. I often compare him to Dipo EXPLODING after leaving Westbrook and I think McCullom would EXPLODE if Dame was out the way for a while some players are just such strong personalities they cow others into not being their best self Wall is feeling like TMAC to Wood's Yao Rocket River
Hakeem can get his touches in the lowpost and high post in iso situations, It's much easier to set that play up, than any of those things you mentioned. Especially when almost all of our guards are sub par passers. In fact almost every possession Wood is on the floor, a PnR is initiated. It takes a a lot of skill on the guards to throw passes in traffic. I see no indication that Wood is frozen out on offense, he gets plenty of touches, he just chooses not to take bad shots.
Fair points, but as a counterpoint, Oladipo played like hot garbage when Wall was out against OKC the other night. For all his flaws, I think Wall does a decent job organizing and running the offense. I wish he were a slightly better and more willing passer, but he seems to control tempo well and sets guys up decently.
I cannot convince you then if you've made up your mind. If you are not seeing it live or do not believe the stats or advanced stats, not sure what else to show you. But I strongly advise you rewatch the last 6-7 games, not highlights, but actual full games. And if Rockets are struggling to involve their most efficient offensive player, who's numbers are on par with some of the best bigs in NBA (Giannis, Sabonis, Jokic, etc.), then it is not a Wood problem. It is a personnel or system failure.
I'm not down on Wall's play, especially last few games. Heck, Wood got 3 lobs before he got hurt. When was the last time he got even 2 in a game? There is no denying that Wood wasn't getting fed in past games, even when he was the hottest hand. The last 4 games Wood was shooting lights out from 3 - 100%/50%/66%/75% - but averaged only 3.75 attempts which was almost half of the attempts by the iso boys Dipo, Wall, EGo and even Boogie in half of those games. But glad to see Wall improving in this area, would have liked to see it sooner but better than latter. And Wall and Dipo are still a bit loose with the ball, those turnovers have to come down. House and BMac too when they are in, very careless and trying to do to much.
He probably is just like Curry. They can still adjust their game tho. Wood is a fantastic shooter and he needs to be spacing the floor anyway especially with teams that have traditional bigs.
Hoping for the best but absolutely expecting the worst based on Silas reaction and wood basically in tears and looking dejected.
LOL. Welcome to the real world kid..... It doesn't logically follow that Silas has no voice or authority but it would be naive to think some players aren't more concerned about getting into a better situation or concerned about their next contract. I'm not really going to argue what is an obvious reality about the NBA.
Just assume that the ankle is beyond saving and they will be left with no choice other than to amputate. Wood will be fitted for a prosthetic and his basketball career is finished. Any injury update that is less severe is sure to beat expectations!
This. Wall, while not able to live up to his contract, is still a really good point guard. It's a new team for him with the added bonus of Covid.
Cute. Calling me kid. If the players are calling the shots, then Silas is not doing his job or satisfying his fiduciary duty to the Rockets organization. The team goals, the organization goals, come first and foremost.
