Jones & N. Rodriguez or Bielak are probably out the door with more signings. Strom is high on James and he’s a good option for depth. Scrubb, Garcia, Abreu have been dependable call up options. Whitley’s staying put.
The day spring training starts 2 spots open up with Verlander and James going on the 60 day IL. No reason to move anyone unless they sign someone to an MLB contract before spring training starts.

He has been designated for assignment for the purpose of removing him from the Giants 40 man roster. The claiming team must put him on their 40 man roster. He cannot just be signed to a minor league deal. The Giants retain his rights if he passes through waivers.
