Guarantees in a contract are what has to be honored.....that's why they are called guarantees. If the contract allows for an out for the team or a player after a certain time and they exercise that right, they are still honoring the contract. That wasn't an attack on Watson, it was an attack on the mindless simpletons who are trying to bring politics and religion into something that has nothing to do with either. Feeble minded posters attempting to brand people as "MAGA" for disagreeing with how Watson has acted or bashing the franchise based on their own religious bigotry has been all over this thread and many others in the Texans forum. Those kinds of posters duck the relevant substantive issues and seek only to demonize anyone who disagrees with the object of their affection. It's fairly pathetic. I've been on the other side of quite a few discussions with @fchowd0311 over the years when it comes to politics, but we seem to agree here. If nothing else, that should suggest to you that politics has absolutely nothing to do with this issue. I'm not even sure how they would factor in honestly. It's not political to suggest someone is a scumbag for signing a long term commitment only to then stab everyone in the back a few months later. Nothing religious about it either. It's a question of ethics more so than anything else.

Hilarious given the people I "insulted" were the people dealing exclusively in ad hominem attacks.....and that's what I "insulted" them for doing. Those who do things like that are absolutely beneath me....and most people. Since the start, I stuck to the substance and those I accurately describe as being "feeble minded" responded with insults and ad hominem. Had they stuck to the substantive issues, I wouldn't have called them out on it.
