For a title, probably not. But if you would have asked the same question about the Warriors in early 2015 people would have said the same thing. Just enjoy the basketball, maybe it's something special.
No, but If Cousins keeps it up and the rockets continue to play hard, even playing tough teams and coming up sometimes short is no problem, but take these games seriously, and if you lose one here and there, find out on personal level what you could do better next time against the top teams. If that means sitting down locked in black room watching videos of yourself and how you can improve. I like there chances thou coming out and everyone uses there personal skills threw others to collectively get wins. Defense thou will keep in these rough games in the future. Here hoping they can lock in. There like 5-6 players on this team that can all score together if they share the ball. Wall, Dipo, Cousins, Gordon, have all got the vet mentality for the playoffs and are not that old! Also usually a team like this cant come together and become a contender the first year. WAY TO Early. But if they do make the playoffs, its a very good sign this early. imo
We're a tender as in we tend-to-suck, lulz. Act like yall have been there before. Embarrassing. But not as embarrassing as this roster.
We aren't contenders but we're a dark horse. I'm excited about the Rockets future. The Harden Era has ended and we're still competitive.
One thing to ask is which west teams are "real contenders" , Jazz, Nuggets, Clippers, Lakers. Then we have the Suns, Mavs, Blazers, Grizzlies, Spurs and Warriors. To be a contender we have to beat the top 4 listed, a couple of them at least twice and likely have to have convincing wins on them.
This is an easy team to root for now and I wish them the best. I don't think they're a contender but their growth on the defensive end along with their offense getting better is promising. I have to give Silas credit as the season has gone along.
If things continue to go well for us I think we're going to be that fake news media darling that everyone says "Oh man you really don't want to face these guys in the playoffs!!!" People on talk shows will talk about how scary it will be to play us, and how we have a "punchers chance" to win on any given night. Like they always say about Dame and Westbrook teams, before they get bounced in 5 in the first round. That's likely to be us.
Jazz are not a contender. Yes they had a streak but overall ... no Superstars, Gobert an Playoffs?, no very deep. Lakers, Clippers and Denver in my opinion are the 3 contender.
