I get that, but you know Westbrook is going to force his way into the paint and take the layup rather than shoot it. Westbrook is not an efficient shooter. Beal is a decent shooter, but I doubt he kills the Nets that much from the 3pt line. He's actually kinda streaky from the 3pt line in most games.

Nash pretty much let Westbrook have his way in the paint. If Jordan was out there, Westbrook would have had to hit his layups over a 6ft 11 player or shoot the ball with some space. I think the Nets would rather Westbrook shot it than lay it up over shorter players.

I didn't watch the game, so those are likely the plausible explanations for why Jordan wasn't in the game. If I were WAS I'm attacking him with Beal on the high pnr over and over (like how the Rockets use to attack Kanter).

It's debatable if taking Jordan out was the right move or not... what isn't debatable is there being logical rationale for doing so.

LOL you wish. Should wait till the trade deadline and the buy out market before these scorching hot takes.

There's a logical rationale for taking him out initially, but I'm not sure it's logical to leave him out when the other team is scoring at will on virtually every play with him on the bench. Of course, they still would have won if they could inbound the ball (where have we heard that before?).

You may be right, since the WIzards did score 48 points in the 4th quarter. Did Jordan play in the 4th? Were they defending better with or without him?

I can't remember if he played earlier in the fourth, but he was out in the final stretch and they were utterly annihilated on defense. Of course, they looked bad with him in too, so charitably you could say Nash is prioritizing tinkering with lineups to see what works and what doesn't over winning every regular season game.

The reality is that the NETS NEEDED HARDEN
Maybe more than Harden needed them (though he may think otherwise)

They both want a championship and neither one was going to get one without the other. Harden wasn't going to get one here.

It figures they would use small ball to end the lineup. It seems Jordan is old and doesnt run drop coverage as well. He did a good job on Giannis that game. Im wondering what they are gonna do at the deadline.

I was looking at some numbers this morning and only one player that plays any kind of significant minutes has a true shooting percentage of less than 60 percent with that person being TLC. Literally everyone on the team is shooting efficiently.

Seems inevitable that they will find a big man with some level of defensive competency and that should probably be enough to make them a lock for the conference finals, if they aren’t already.

People seem to think that they are out of trade chips, but a podcast I listened to last night talked about how a huge portion of the league is unable to trade 1st round picks by rule and that we should expect to see more 2nd rounders moved than we usually would and that Brooklyn still has quite a few of those they can trade. Will definitely be interesting to see what they will do.

I honestly couldn’t tell you. Other than a few rumblings haven’t really heard much. Also seems strange that a guy who is still playing as well as he is and making as much money as he is would find his way into being bought out, but stranger things have happened.

It seems weird for a playoff team to buy out one of their best player.
