There's a chain in Ft. Worth called Rule the Roost Nashville Hot Chicken. I don't know where else they have locations but worth visiting if you see one. Almost the same sandwich as Popeyes, same style batter and dressed similarly, but it's really much better. All they have is chicken sandwiches, so always fresh and hot.

For anyone in Austin, I just tried the chicken sandwich at T22. Any fan of fried chicken in Austin knows T22 for Nashville hot chicken, but their chicken sandwich is really good, too. I had the big one (they have two sizes) and it must've been a lb of chicken. Got the hottest spice level and told them to hold the mayo because I'm not white and in love with that. Definitely recommend.

Didn't realize they expanded to Houston. I grew up in that Louetta area so it's nice to have it nearby when I visit the parents there.

    Mico's in Houston is good

but , I still prefer the Chik fil A sandwich over Popeyes as a sandwich you can eat on a regular basis and not feel like you ate too much

If it’s anything like their POS grilled nugget pellets they can suck it.

Good. Don’t do it. Unless you like being disappointed/ripped off.

Nice to see Nashville hot chicken finally getting popular in places other than Tennessee. It's how fried chicken should be done if you like spicy chicken. :D If you're in the RIchardson area of DFW, try Ricky's Hot Chicken. When COVID decides to go away, I need to go back there. Hattie B's is supposed to be opening up a location in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. They're one of the original hot chicken places in Nashville along with the OG chicken shop, Prince's.

The best fried chicken sandwich in Austin is at T22. It's amazeballs.

I tried their regular spicy chicken sandwich. It's pretty simple and decent. I need to try the grilled one someday.

Well, you crazy b*stard you, you were right.

Took 2 bites of the spicy grilled sammich, funky taste, threw the rest away. Terrible, just terrible, chicken.

    NO GRILLED CHICKEN at chick-fil-a.

Had the Sonic chicken slingers tonight. The chicken was good, very moist and the bun was decent enough. The thing that pissed me off was the fact that they used slicked kosher pickles instead of dill hamburger pickles. It didnt pair well at all. Had to take the damn pickles off and i love pickles.

I've never been to Hattie B's in Nashville, but I'm hoping to go to the one in Dallas if it's still going to open up. I just read somewhere they confirmed their lease up here. Sweeeeet!
