Who would not want Jonathan Isaac, but he is not on the block. AG is. And his size and skillset fits exactly what Rockets need right now next to Wood. Other players like Jerami Grant, Larry Nance, James Johnson would be good fits too but their teams covet them. Like Orlando does Isaac.
Where did you hear that he thinks he's a superstar? He's low key in his interviews. His teammates and coaches love him. He doesn't whine about not making all star teams, respect, or getting calls. He acknowledges that accolades will follow team success. I don't think he has a big ego at all. Your on court criticisms of him are on point. He's turnover prone and a poor defender, but his offensive production is crazy good. I mean, Wood doesn't have great defensive instincts either but when he's this productive and efficient you live with the shortcomings. Lavine isn't the top of my dream list by any means but his contract, age, and production would be a good fit for many teams. He's not making $40M per year, he's making $19M. Like Wood's contract, that's a bargain.
Not convinced on Gordan, but would take a flyer if the price is right. Shitty pick plus tucker, Mac, shitty first round pick for instance.
Great. Then may be we can get him for really cheap. He is only signed through next year and can test him some of this year and next to decide if we want him. Dipo and Orlando FRP, done.
Like him too but he would be a luxury on this team. And his addition will be a subtraction for the defense. Let's give Porter a chance instead. And Lavine does nothing to help Wood inside on defense, which is the Achilles heel of this team right now.
AG is out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. I hope his value dips a little and we are able to get him. He plays the same role as Tate. Tate makes minimum while AGordon makes 20M/per. Is AG 15 times better than Tate.
It would be perfect if Orlando is willing to include Bamba too. They dont have a clue how to use Bamba. Or even use him at all.
AG going to the Nets would be devastating. Especially because he would be such an excellent fit on that team with Harden. If they pull that trade off, Nets would have TWO Jeff Green type players. I wonder what they’re going to use to get the trade done? 2042 first round pick? Do they even have any value left outside of their big 3?
Everyone on AG to Rockets bandwagon now. Speaking RoCo into existence last season was fun. I would be over the moon if it happens with AG.
His advanced stats are off the chain. But he is not comfortable in Clifford's hybrid defense, he would do much better in a more simplified system. His game is just so suited to our 5 Out offense. And he would be an amazing upgrade to Boogie, especially protecting rim and switching.
3 seconds is such an odd asking price. Why not just 1 first? Is the guaranteed salary really that frightening?
Note the elite defenders. Ben Simmons, Myles Turner, Matisse Thybulle, Larry Nance, etc are all players we have mocked to Rockets. Note also that Draymond and PJ are almost identical in their offensive and defensive efficiency.
