All three articles that come out state he didn't want controlling interest in who was hired as well, as opposed to what the McNair/Easterby fans are saying.

yeah his extension doesnt even hit the books until 2023 I think - I know for sure the cap number for Watson THIS year is around 16Ms.

This may be true, but Bob McNair wanted Caserio long before Easterby was hired on

It's his money, he listened to Dungy and went with Caserio, a guy the McNair's had been chasing after for years,

Most of the locer room will be and should be gone in two years so this is no great loss. A happy locker room only won 4 games last year.

Yeah it’s reasonable this year for sure. In 22 it’s a 40 mil cap hit.
Either way, the value is there when he plays like he did this year.

It's certainly been all over the internet.

Still only a 3 year extension - its not as bad a deal as some make it out to be.

Depends on how badly Watson wants out - if you subscribe to the rumors he is willing to go to some bad/average teams in order to do so.

You might be underestimating the market for an elite QB in his prime - its hard to compare because IT NEVER HAPPENS!

I mean, if they didn't oppose him, they went along with him, yes.

    That's how logic works...

Not sure how this is confusing??

If the response is "sure, they're backing their coach, etc, etc." that's fine, but now he's not.

I have no problem with players exercising their power. I will call them out for doing it solely after they've gotten everything else they wanted, when the problems they're complaining about were clearly and obviously in place beforehand.

    3?
I thought it was a 4 year extension, totaling 5 years.!He can’t be a free agent until 2026, at least that’s what spotrac says.

The Rams chose Stafford over Watson. The 49ers are reportedly discussing Cousins. A picture is starting to form in which it's fun to talk about trading for Deshaun Watson; far less fun to execute said given the likely cost.

Even if the Texans MASSIVELY screw this up (likely!), they're still going to get a likely large return.

Do you think that players feeling like they are being spied on was in place beforehand and its now just become standard operating procedure? Jack calling Moms about what her grown ass man baby is doing "wrong" in his eyes?

Makes it curious then to see that these newer allegations coincide with the most pushback from Deshaun leading up to the trade request - hard to believe he would be A-OK with all that stuff going on back then.

The Rams could only afford Stafford. Baby Shanny doesn't need cream of the crop talent to be successful so why pay for it? Again - the market for Watson is white hot whether we choose to believe it or not.

You're right my bad. 4 year deal. If I remember right it was still looked at as suspect - far cry from Mr Mahomes deal thats for sure, and in the ballpark annually with guys like Wentz, Goff and Cousins - which D4 is easily ahead of in production.

QB contracts in the NFL are a doozy.

No, obviously all of that, IF true, is insane.

Spying obviously. Calling moms... still insane, but again saying IF true, cause want to see what that's about. If spying on phones is true i'd say that's criminal... as technically i think it can be in some places?? [and selfishly i hope it is true and Cal ordered it and the NFL forces him to sell]

Right..... Deshaun Watson is going to cost *a lot.* That's my point....... There are not a lot of teams able and/or willing to give up what they're going to have to give up to get Watson.

Like I've said earlier... its going to be a middle of the road, desperate for a QB team, that is the most likely end point.

The worst teams still need more than just Deshaun and while it shouldn't matter who your draft picks are for the next 2-3 years if you lock in the franchise QB, it does matter to the GM of that team who may not be overseeing the winner 5-6 years later if they have to piece together rosters with duct tape due to no foreseeable high draft picks and less cap space.

The 2011 Denver Broncos were 8-8 before Peyton Manning. He immediately ascended them to elite status. The 2015 Houston Texans would be another team that would give everything they had to trade for somebody of Deshaun's caliber... and they went 9-7.

Teams that fit that mold are currently the Patriots, Vikings, Panthers, Falcons and 49ers... teams that have some pieces in place and aren't that far removed from success. There's Miami as well... who are in the unique position of being far ahead (record wise) in their rebuild, but if they're still willing to give Tua a chance, they'll likely just draft the all-world WR #3 (or trade up if the Jets threaten to take him).

Might we tempt them with Boogie Cousins as an extra inducement to give us 4 first rounders + Nick Bosa for Deshaun Watson? David Johnson, Randall Cobb, and PJ Tucker can also be made available.

What in the world makes you think it was a happy locker room last year? By all indications it was a really really unhappy locker room.
