I like the Rox situation over those 2 teams. At least they arent betting vs Lebron. Apart from chokejob vs Dallas Lebron has always destroyed every team that he is favored against. Those 2 teams are in win now mode and on track to get their hearts broken in the post season. I mean people say contender this and that but really Lakers gonna win it barring injury. Theres even talk of adding Beal which would be even more insane if it happens.

I'm happy to be off the fake contender treadmill and just enjoy the ride this season.

Lol they are not getting Beal, please. And the Sixers are in a way better position than we are.

Even if they dont get Beal Lakers still on track to repeat. I just said it would be insane if it does happen.

Who do you think is gonna win the championship this year?

If you think nothing is set in stone why do you keep saying Rox suck this year?

Not really. Simmons is a LIABILITY and the Sixers will eventually flame out miserably in the postseason again. Philly is a train wreck waiting to happen

On the other hand, our future is brighter and we have a younger, smarter & less self centered GM in Stone. Also Silas is the perfect coach for a rebuild.

    Rockets> Philly

LA is the fav its not clear cut. Clippers look amazing. Bucks are still in it. Sixers are def in it(and they beat the Lakers this season already lol) And the Nets too. Especially when buy out season comes and they are done with trades. Im rooting for Nets and Sixers especially.

And I will say again Sixers are in a much better position than the Rockets.

I disagree. In a lot of ways Rockets are in a much better position than the Sixers.

    1. No pressure to win now
-Sixers are fake contenders. We all know if everything goes according to plan they won't win a championship. In terms of absolute power level they are below Lakers, Nets and Clippers so all 3 of those have to flop for them to win. Expecting to win a championship but in a vacuum being the 4rth best team in the league, that's not a good position. That's a position to get heart broken this year and every year they aren't in the top 2 IMO.

    2. Rox have brighter future than Sixers
-Embiid is a bad fall away from career ending injury. Yeah Dipo just came from an ACL tear but he is an iron man compared to Embiid. OTH Sixers look downright horrible without Embiid in fact they are 0-4 without Embiid including a crushing at the hands of Detroit Pistons. Rox of course I'm not gonna elaborate on all their young guns and picks coming their way which Philly doesn't have.

    3. Rox have better coach, Stone better than mailing it in Morey
-Even as a rookie I would take Silas over Rivers. Stone has done a great job in just 1 offseason comparable to the best years of Morey.

    4. Rockets further along the development curve than Sixers
In a lot of ways Sixers are like the past Rockets, they are a contender that everyone knows deep down wont win a ring not unless crazy things happen. They'll stay this way till Simmons and Embiid get broken up, and then they end up like current Rockets which is a team in flux. By that time Rox might be contenders again I guess we'll see.

Sixers are only better position in terms of absolute talent level. The two of them aren't winning a ring this year though so that doesn't matter IMO.

lol, yes when you remove "having a better team that is currently has the best record in their conference" from the equation, I'll take the Rockets over the fool's gold 76'rs any day of the week.

Not sure if you are sarcastic or not lol. Regardless, best regular season record before the deadline means very little IMO.

No but they have a legitimate shot to actually get to the Finals this year.

The Rockets don't, and further we haven't been to the finals in 26 years! Even if Philly just wins a bunch of regular season games and gets to the FInals and loses that's....NOT THAT BAD. I wouldn't mind a team that does that!

The only teams barring a major injury that will win this year is either the Clips, Lakers and possibly though unlikely due to defense the Nets.

Sixers, Bucks, Celtics, Nuggets, Jazz no chance.

Rockets have had a legit shot to get to the Finals and were actually in the "Real Finals" the last couple of years. I don't see you jumping for joy or being content with those almost finals runs losing to GSW consecutively. If getting to WCF didn't give you that great dose of satisfaction I dunno why you think a shot at the finals (but more likely losing in the ECF) is better. Like I said the champ will prob be among Lakers, Clips or Nets. The rest have really small chance that includes Sixers.

Philly isn't even a lock to make the Finals right? All you have is a shot which is what the Rox now currently have as well lol.

    1. They have a great shot still. Embid is 27, Simmons is a valuable trade asset. His roster has flexibility too. He's fine.

2 Okay dude, like all of the guys on our squad are brittle C Woods is like that. Wall is like that too.

    3. Morey isnt mailing it in there and Doc was hired before Morey got there but Morey>Stone.

    4. They have many years to contend though. And if they added a shooting superstar(like Beal) for Simmons....watch out.

Well you were looking in the wrong place, both contemporaneously and recently I've said that the emphasis on "rings uber alles" by the NBA-take-industrial complex was and is laughably myopic - Rockets were the best team in 2018, they can put up a banner as far as I'm concerned.

How the hell is our future brighter.

They still have a great trade chip in Simmons and they also have young upside guys in Maxey, Milton and Thybule as well as true franchise player with Embid.

    You guys need to stop.

So if you were happy why you saying stuff like Rox havent reached the finals in 26 years? According to you they can put up a banner so why bother about a mere finals appearance?
