Wtf is this obsession with Lavine? He is empty calories and turns the ball over way too much, yet he thinks he's a superstar. Plus, his defense is awful and always will be; he just doesn't have any instincts.
Double down on defense, make this defense truly ELITE. Trade#1 https://tradenba.com/trades/q8TDHjsM6 NOP: John Wall, Ben McLemore + Cavs FRP CLE: Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe, Al-Farouq Aminu ORL: Kevin Love, JJ Reddick, Danuel House HOU: Aaron Gordon, Larry Nance Jr., Evan Fournier, Mo Bamba Trade#2 NOP: Rodions Kurucs HOU: SRP Trade#3 ORL: Dante Exum HOU: SRP Trade#3 PHI: PJ Tucker HOU: Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz + SRP *Pelicans get a rehabbed All Star to lead young team that is built to run + 40% 3ball shooter in BMac + FRP *Cavs get rid of Love contract + add young 6'6 pass first player to build around Sexton, Garland, JA, Osman, Prince, Okoro. Aminu & Bledsoe are quality vets. *Magic do not just improve but add elite spacing and 3ball shooting in Love, Reddick and even House. *6ers add glue guy and a starter in PJ who is playoff vet. *Rockets get longer and more balanced on offense and defense. Fournier is larger expiring than Exum. 6'3 EGo (34% 3P)/6'5 Brown/6'7 Korkmaz 6'4 Dipo (33% 3P)/6'7 Fournier/6'4 Porter 6'7 Nance (37% 3P)/6'5 Nwaba/6'5 Thybulle 6'8 AG (36% 3P)/6'4 Tate/6'6 KJ 6'10 Wood (39% 3P)/7'0 Bamba/6'10 Cousins Cousins probably dealt/waived before trade deadline to open up roster to sign Mason Jones to extension. Dipo and EGo are still options at trade deadline or kept for rebuild. Dipo, Fournier, Bamba, Nwaba, Sterling, Cousins are all expiring. Locked up: Wood, Porter, EGo, AG, Nance, Tate, Thybulle, Korkmaz, KJ, Mase
I might target Jonas Valanciunas. Move Tucker to a third team for a collection of 2nd round picks and an expiring. Package that expiring, picks and Ben Mac to Memphis. Or keep Tucker, send out Exum in his place with one of our first rounders. If we are going to try and be competitive, JV is a good rotation player who can help pick up our offense, which is what needs improvement. Wall / Gordon Olidipo / Brown / Nwaba Tate / House Wood / JV / Cousins
Why would Grizz give up Valanciunas, he is top 10 in def rating this season and a big reason why their defense is so good this season. Hear anything?
Magic are on verge of shaking things up. Only question is when and if Rockets can give them what they want. "Frustration consuming Orlando Magic as the abyss approaches" https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2021/01/30/frustration-consuming-orlando-magic-as-the-abyss-approaches-quicker/amp/
We need a star... Otherwise it's a collection of talent to be poached by other contenders... I don't think over paying multiple 2nd and 3rd tier Allstars is gonna pose a threat to the big boys... Denver( although Joker is now a superstar )Boston, and Utah are prime examples of this philosophy... That **** might've worked 10 years ago but the NBA is about triple teaming mfers now.. **** damn near unwatchable for fans that don't have the 3 stars..
How about one of them fancy Brooklyn picks..just one of them + House+ Mclemore+ Brown+ Tucker for Nikola and Aaron Gordon. Orlando is then off the hook with the Nikola contract. For the rockets, Nikola's game won't age. Nikola/Cousins Wood/ Aaron Gordon Point Forward Aaron Gordon/Tate/Nwaba Oladipo/Gordon/ Nwaba Wall/ MJ 75 wins guaranteed! Orlando then trades Tucker to a contender. I wouldn't do that to him.
Hmm.. I'm not sure on this one. Wood needs to be Center, its been stressed it a lot and it hasn't changed. He loses all his advantages playing PF. He wouldn't be the most athletic PF, the quickest, the best shooting PF, all of which he has an argument for being as a Center. Not saying he wouldn't succeed, but he wouldn't be offensively head and shoulders above his match up as often. Aaron Gordon has been used as a SF and he's been.. awful. The Magic tried him, Isaac and Vuce and it failed pretty hard. I'd imagine he'd be gone already if Isaac wasn't hurt. If Jones isn't going to be used as a backup 1 (sad face if so) then PF and back up PG should be priorities with SF not far behind (though there's argument that PJ playing SF and defending 3s and 4s is his ideal situation).
I would love Aaron Gordon Get me Aaron Gordon Trade some SGs We have so many Oladipo Gordon Nwaba Brown McLemore Porter Jr Thomas 7 of our 16 players are SGs That's ridiculous.
Maybe the Bulls have our shooting guard AND PF of the future?? This is pretty big so hold on. Nuggets get PJ Tucker, Ben McLemore, Kelly Olynyk Miami get Victor Oladipo Bulls get Gary Harris, Dante Exum, Precious Achuiwa, Kendrick Nunn, 2021 Unprotected FRP via Nuggets, Protected 2023 FRP from Washington via Houston Rockets get Zach Lavine and Otto Porter Jr. You could swap out Tucker for Gordon but I thought if I had to keep one it would probably be Gordon. Hes been tremendous this season so far. Otto Porter Jr. Is quietly having a great year. Him playing as a stretch 4 should be his ideal position while being able to move down when needed. Unfortunately he's had to play more 3 next to Lauri and Thad Young in the last couple years so he hasn't been able to showcase his PF skills. IMO he's better than Aaron Gordon. If you think about swapping Oladipo out with Porter, Vic is on a big contract looking for a larger one. Porter is on a big contract and will more than likely sign a smaller deal (both on expirings). Lineup would look Wall/Jones Lavine/EGO or Nwaba is EGO is traded Tate/Brown OPJ/Tucker or House if Tucker is traded Wood/Boogie
also what's with the obsession with aaron gordon? he's like lavine... an empty calories player who doesn't excel on offense or defense. an undersized 4 who isn't a reliable shooter, shoots 60% from the line, isn't an elite rebounder, and isn't any sort of game-changer on the defensive side of the ball either. and he makes a decent amount of salary... and yet ppl on here are wanting to even include a future brooklyn first for this guy?? c'mon.... unless orlando is willing to give away aaron gordon for peanuts, or something like a straight swap for eric gordon... i would hope the rockets are smart enough not to consider aaron gordon as some sort of major trade haul. if any trade package to orlando includes a brooklyn first round pick, it better be for jonathan isaac instead.
How desperate are the Warriors to compete: https://tradenba.com/trades/imHHFBOqR Two serviceable bigs for two years, one expiring, and Minn. pick.
A small deal but one that strengthens us in the short term with no long-term implications: Exum for George Hill Would you be willing to include the Detroit FRP to complete the deal? I’d strongly consider it since it’s highly protected and OKC is all about stockpiling draft picks.
